Maximize Savings on Everyday Items!

Written by Cheryl Johnson

Frugal living is more than a lifestyle. It's a passion. Call Me Crazy! I love It!

Why, who wouldn't love getting paid to buy products that they use everyday?

Here's how I do it.

I purchase an item that has a rebate offer (either a store or manufacturer rebate) while it is on sale and use a coupon during purchase. That's it! Using this formula I almost always come out ahead. When all is done, I've gotten back more than I actually paid forrepparttar item.

Even when I do have to pay forrepparttar 112153 items like deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and toothbrushes it's about 50 cents for a item that would cost up to $2 -$4 originally.

Am Irepparttar 112154 only one out there that gets excited about this? I doubt it! At least I hope not. That would make me "Crazy", wouldn't it? But a lot of folks just don't know how to combine money saving measures to maximize savings.

My local drugstore (which byrepparttar 112155 way is a national chain) often advertises items free after rebate. Hey, that cuts down on a lot of work for me. Easy Money! I e an also lucky enough to have a grocery store in my area that offers rebates and offers double coupons (sometimes even doubling $1 coupons as a special promotion). Needless to say, with six mouths to feed (myself, my husband, and four kids) I'm lovin' that idea!

Then we can put my family's worries to rest. They think I'm really crazy.

Here are a couple other ways that I save on items we use everyday:

1. Always use items that are reusable rather than throw away

For example: Reusable coffee filters, cups and plates, and my favorite pet peeve -

The great sandwich bag conspiracy

The major manufacturers of sandwich bags would lead us to believe that it takes rocket science to keep a sandwich fresh. Ask yourself this, How long do you need to keep that sandwich fresh anyway? It’s not like it’s going torepparttar 112159 moon. It’s just going torepparttar 112160 office or school for a few hours.

Credit In The Modern World

Written by T.B. Collins

Credit is in every avenue ofrepparttar modern day world, you can not make a major purchase withoutrepparttar 112152 use of credit this includes a auto or a home purchases. But, many consumers are unaware of how their credit stands, and are usually surprised when applying for a credit card and they are rejected. This is commonly due to negative entries on their credit report, or out-of-date information that does not matchrepparttar 112153 information supplied onrepparttar 112154 credit application. Because of thisrepparttar 112155 credit report has becomerepparttar 112156 mainstay of judging a consumers ability to repay a debt, andrepparttar 112157 credit report is based onrepparttar 112158 past payment history ofrepparttar 112159 consumer.

Credit is not a new financial purchasing method, it has been around for a long time, but it wasn’t untilrepparttar 112160 early forties that it became a means of payment available torepparttar 112161 everyday consumer. Withrepparttar 112162 advent ofrepparttar 112163 bankcard, a card that representedrepparttar 112164 issuing institution that was distributed by major banks isrepparttar 112165 reason credit became a major business; these bankcards later became known as credit cards. The banks would issue these cards to their clients as an alternative to carrying large amounts of cash, and it was commonly accepted only by merchants that usedrepparttar 112166 same bank asrepparttar 112167 client thatrepparttar 112168 card was issued to.

One ofrepparttar 112169 most common misconceptions is that Visa and MasterCard are banking institutions, these companies are not banks they simply saw an opportunity to userepparttar 112170 services banks provided to earn an income. They tookrepparttar 112171 bankcard principle and expanded to include merchants that were not affiliated withrepparttar 112172 bank and convinced them to accept their card for a discount ofrepparttar 112173 purchase price, and they would takerepparttar 112174 risk of collectingrepparttar 112175 debt. By putting their name and reputation onrepparttar 112176 line they built a business takingrepparttar 112177 reporting agencies.
