Proverbs 24(KJV) verse 6 "For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety"’ In every generation of mankind, there are ‘fighters’ and ‘non-fighters’. All fighters claim to make war with wise counsel which is an essential commodity ‘lost’ to human race! ‘Wise counsel’ is simply counsel based on wisdom. However there are two kinds of wisdom that is employed in any warfare and each differs in its source, nature, and effects:- James 3(KJV) verse 13 "Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom." verse 14 "But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against truth." verse 15 "This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish." verse 16 "For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work". verse 17 "But wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." verse 18 "And fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace"’ The first kind of wisdom is adequately described in verses 14-16 of above scriptures. This is type of wisdom that makes fighters do one or more of following foolish actions:- 1. Facing wrong enemy. 2. Fighting right enemy with wrong kind of weaponry. 3. Fighting right enemy with right kind of weaponry using wrong strategy at wrong time and place.

And they dwelt in their steads until captivity." Normally every human being wants to be a winner. Practically many win some battles and lose some. A few actually experience a stalemate. Others give up on life to become losers. A common adage in secular world ‘heaven helps those who help themselves’ offers motivation to anyone seeking to succeed in any human endeavour. How can a soldier of Christ help himself so that heaven can help him in battles of life? While many great theologians and Christian leaders criticize this adage, others in their support propose various ways that a Christian can help himself to secure divine help against enemy of his soul. The following exposition based on integrity and authority of scriptures quoted above points to way of wisdom on which one can truly seek, secure, and enjoy real triumph. On this pathway, there are certain signposts which shall be briefly examined:
