Life – The TeacherWritten by Clyde Dennis
You’ve probably heard phrase "repetition is mother of learning" well apparently it’s also mother of teaching. Often it seems, Life – The Teacher uses tool of repetition to imprint into our brains lessons it’s needing to impart to us. At least this has been my experience. It has become clear to me that life gives same tests over, and over and over again until we demonstrate that we’ve learned lesson by passing test. This teacher seems more than happy to show us again and again why it may be a bad idea to take a particular action, or choose one direction over another. The good news here is that it works both ways. Like any good teacher choose properly and life smiles. Choose improperly and life corrects. Sometimes I wish and think that it would be simpler and easier if teacher would just make all of my decisions for me and let me know exactly what I’m supposed to do, but of course that’s not way it works. In this teacher role life is just an administrator, not an advisor or counselor. Life is there to administer and grade tests. Once you pass test however, Life records your grade and moves on to next lesson. But don’t completely discard lesson you’ve just learned as over because it’s not. You may not see or have to deal

You know kids, one of things I've learned by letting more people know what's going on inside my head is that once you do people expect you to live up to what you've put out there. I've sort of learned on fly here that using this knowledge as a burr under saddle that is my life accelerates my growth. Where I used to piddle (piddle's a FUN word to say...) around on things that I was working on internally and hadn't publicly disclosed, it's become clear to me that if I make it wide spread knowledge that ‘this is an area I'm working on getting better in’, you guys and girls let me know when I've missed mark. Thus becoming yet another source of motivation. The basic philosophy here being you sharpen me, I sharpen you, we encourage, lift up and motivate each other. With this in mind I’d like to suggest a few things that we might all collectively work on . Hold still a minute would you. I need you to be my sharpening stone. In new millennium and beyond here are just a few of things you can look forward to from me. If you’d like, you can join me in reaching for greater success in any or all of these areas. Let’s appreciate more of things that tend to go unappreciated. The little things we take for granted. When was last time you really stopped and considered fact that there are people who have never “seen” and never will? When was last time you were thankful for it? The gift of sight is no little thing. Is it?
