Life More AbundantlyWritten by Joyce C. Lock
And God said, Let waters bring forth abundantly moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above earth in open firmament of heaven. And to every beast of earth, and to every fowl of air, and to every thing that creepeth upon earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And Lord God formed man of dust of ground, and breathed into his nostrils breath of life; and man became a living soul. And they went in unto Noah into ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is breath of life. Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons; that thou mightest fear Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. That thou mayest love Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in land which Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. The Spirit of God hath made me, and breath of Almighty hath given me life. Thou wilt shew me path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all days of my life: and I will dwell in house of Lord for ever. One thing have I desired of Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in house of Lord all days of my life, to behold beauty of Lord, and to enquire in his temple. For with thee is fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. Yet Lord will command his lovingkindness in daytime, and in night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto God of my life. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy good of all his labour that he taketh under sun all days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. For he shall not much remember days of his life; because God answereth him in joy of his heart. My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Because strait is gate, and narrow is way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in world to come eternal life. For even Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. In him was life; and life was light of men. For God so loved world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. He that believeth on Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not Son shall not see life; but wrath of God abideth on him. But whosoever drinketh of water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. For as Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to Son to have life in himself. Search scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Labour not for meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God Father sealed. For bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto world. And Jesus said unto them, I am bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. And this is will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at last day. I am that bread of life. I am living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for life of world. It is spirit that quickeneth; flesh profiteth nothing: words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am good shepherd: good shepherd giveth his life for sheep.
| | Glorify thy NameWritten by Joyce C. Lock
Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. Ye that fear LORD, praise him; all ye seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye seed of Israel. Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto most High: And call upon me in day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O LORD; and shall glorify thy name. I will praise thee, O LORD my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. Wherefore glorify ye LORD in fires, even name of LORD God of Israel in isles of sea. Therefore shall strong people glorify thee, city of terrible nations shall fear thee. Thou hast increased nation, O LORD, thou hast increased nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all ends of earth. Sing, O ye heavens; for LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel. Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from womb; from bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified. Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of LORD thy God, and for Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. All flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify house of my glory. Surely isles shall wait for me, and ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto name of LORD thy God, and to Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee. Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit land for ever, branch of my planting, work of my hands, that I may be glorified. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, oil of joy for mourning, garment of praise for spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, planting of LORD, that he might be glorified. Hear word of LORD, ye that tremble at his word; your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. And say, Thus saith LORD God; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in midst of thee: and they shall know that I am LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her. Yea, all people of land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown day that I shall be glorified, saith LORD God. Go up to mountain, and bring wood, and build house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith LORD. Ye are light of world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to sick of palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. Insomuch that multitude wondered, when they saw dumb to speak, maimed to be whole, lame to walk, and blind to see: and they glorified God of Israel. And immediately he arose, took up bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. And shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. And Jesus returned in power of Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day. And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God. Now when centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. (But this spake he of Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, town of Mary and her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for glory of God, that Son of God might be glorified thereby. On next day much people that were come to feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is King of Israel that cometh in name of Lord. And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt. These things understood not his disciples at first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
