Life Lessons, A Three Step ProcessWritten by Sue and Chuck DeFiore
I have come to conclusion that no matter what you want out of life there is a three step process. The first step is to make a decision. You need to decide if you want to lose weight, stop smoking, save money, find a compatible mate, spend more time with your children, start a business, volunteer… you get idea. Whatever it is you want to do, first step is to decide and I mean really decide that you want to do it. Just talking it to death is not making a decision, making effort and moving forward after making decision is. So first, write down decision you have made. The next step is big one, big “C” and that is to make a commitment to your decision. The commitment is stumbling point for so many. They talk and talk about decisions, I’m going to lose weight, I am going to start my own business, I am going to stop smoking, etc. A commitment means taking steps to fulfill decision you made. Making a plan to move forward. If your decision is to spend more time with your children, decide what days and time you will spend with them and make up a list of things you could do with them. Or if you decide to volunteer, make a list of your interests, and then match that to a organization that needs volunteers.

How to Have a Good DayIs it Possible? Each of us would love to have a good day as often as possible. Life may be pressing in on us: not-so-rewarding relationships, stresses at work, financial issues – you know story and you can fill in blanks with your own version. What many may not be so aware of is that you can have a good day in spite of your circumstances. Just what is a Good Day? First of all, how would you define a good day? I think most people would say that feeling happy is a good way to describe a good day. Others might say feeling of accomplishment they get when completing a task would make their day. Pleasant surroundings are important to some. Whatever impetus for feeling, it comes down to being satisfied with life. Some people are this way naturally, others are not so fortunate. Steps to Having a Good Day Try following exercises daily to overcome “yech,” and move toward “Yes!” 1. Wake up with God – Spend a few moments, upon waking, to consider goodness and nature of God. Thank Him for countless blessings He has given you. 2. Expect a Good Day – As you go about your morning routine, before you leave home, determine that nothing is going to get you down today. Imagine your day going well – see it in your mind. 3. Give Gift of Goodness to Others – Greet everyone you meet with a smile. Speak to them and wish them a good day. Find reasons to like people. Do specific acts of kindness to others. Help someone when they need help, before they ask for it. Tell people you like them. Have and express an open heart to others.
