Thus saith Lord, Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning work of my hands command ye me. Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not ordinance of their God: they ask of me ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. They shall ask way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to Lord in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.
Ask ye of Lord rain in time of latter rain; so Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in field. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
And when daughter of said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, king said unto damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto half of my kingdom. And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John Baptist. But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of cup that I drink of? and be baptized with baptism that I am baptized with? And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because Lord hath need of him. And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me: The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
