Jesus wants A Few Good MenWritten by Greg Ryan
(Courtroom scene) Tom Cruise (Kaffee) (prosecuting attorney) “I WANT THE TRUTH!”Jack Nicholson (Col. Jessup) (marine cornel) YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH ….Son, we live a world that has walls and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have more responsibility here than you could possibly fathom. You curse marines. You have that luxury. You have that luxury of not knowing what I know. And that my existence as grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. I know down deep in places you don’t want to talk about, you don’t want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like HONOR, CODE, and LOYALTY. We use these words as very backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither time nor inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under blanket of very freedom I provide. I prefer you to just say thank you and go on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don’t give a crap what you think you are entitled to!” (end of scene) You will not be able to find more honorable, loyal and mentally strong people on this earth than a United States Marine. Their very COR values of why they exist stands on a firm foundation of; Honor, Loyalty and Strength. If you want anyone on your side and on top of that wall it would be a Marine. No matter what mission it’s marines that are first ones in and last ones to leave. If you happen to ask any marine why they do what they do? All of them would say, “It’s not about politics, pride, or pillage.” They would say, “It’s about man standing beside me every day in battle. They are ones I do it for.” Years ago we lived in a world with fewer choices, not as many worries and words spoken with more encouragement and meaning behind them. And with that came Honor in what we had, Truth in words we used and Loyalty to ones we loved. Today we live in a world full of businesses, stress of unbearable proportions, and words sugar coated in order to please everyone including “Barney” dog. Today we live in a world where pride in our values, love for our creator, and words of love for others are all but spoken behind closed doors.

I don’t know of anyone who really liked taking tests in school if you did there is something seriously wrong with you. It just seemed as though some breezed through while people like myself always struggled. Life is not fair!!!! Some call it tests anxiety. I think I just concentrated on trying not to get answer wrong instead of relaxing and allowing my brain to find answer in my head. Most times next day I could do better because of no pressure. Second golf shots are like that too! So when I received my test scores back all I noticed were red marks and disappointments instead of how many right answers I had out of one hundred. Having said that, perfect test scores were few and far between for most of us I think. Life at times gives us impromptu tests that at time we think we have fail in our minds. In other words, when all said and done our nature is to focus on what we did wrong and our imperfections and not opportunity for growth that is in front of us. Life is not about perfect papers it’s about learning from red marks. Yet, in most experiences lessons can be learned from those moments. Jesus was a great teacher. In bible there are thirty-nine parables in which Jesus teaches us through life
