It’s the Most Wonderful Gift of the Year

Written by Joy Fisher-Sykes

It’srepparttar most wonderful time ofrepparttar 122895 year. As we deckrepparttar 122896 halls and fillrepparttar 122897 malls, we’re filled with anticipation, joy, and excitement. The holiday season is upon us, and it’s a special time we choose to show our appreciation and share our love withrepparttar 122898 special people in our lives. However, with all ofrepparttar 122899 joyrepparttar 122900 holidays bring, this still tends to be one ofrepparttar 122901 most stressful times ofrepparttar 122902 year. Why?

Could it be because it’s intoxicating to buy loved ones whatever their hearts desire – and we’re willing to rise inrepparttar 122903 dark of night to shop inrepparttar 122904 pre-dawn hours forrepparttar 122905 “gift ofrepparttar 122906 year”? Ah, yes, repparttar 122907 mad dash torepparttar 122908 5 a.m. sale where you’re guaranteed to be pushed, run over, stepped on, and after a long wait told “Sorry sold out;” only to then haverepparttar 122909 pleasure of standing in a check out line as long asrepparttar 122910 east coast. Hum. Do you ever questionrepparttar 122911 sanity of a day like this in a life that seems to have so little time, and a world that’s filled with job insecurity, war, and economic ups and downs? If so, why do you still feel so torn? Could it be because we’ve allowed marketers, advertisers, manufacturers, and retailers to shape our outlook and convince us to buy into their vision ofrepparttar 122912 perfect life? This life where you shop to createrepparttar 122913 perfect body, so you can be withrepparttar 122914 perfect partner, live inrepparttar 122915 perfect house, and driverepparttar 122916 perfect car torepparttar 122917 perfect job so we can affordrepparttar 122918 perfect lotions and potions to forever liverepparttar 122919 perfect life. Wake up and smellrepparttar 122920 perfect hype! The holidays are not about being manipulated into believing in some artificially created image that drives sales; it’s about your vision of giving and sharingrepparttar 122921 joy your choose to create.

Stress ofrepparttar 122922 season happens when we fret about how our gift will be received. A disconnect exists when we fear if our gift is disliked, then somehow we too will be rejected and deniedrepparttar 122923 friendship, affection or acceptance we so desire. Although intellectually, we know nothing could be further fromrepparttar 122924 truth, we may still feelrepparttar 122925 need to explain away or apologize for our gifts of love. I say if you hold this to be your truth and also believe thatrepparttar 122926 worth of your relationships is based onrepparttar 122927 monetary value of gifts exchanged, then I strongly urge you to re-examine and re- evaluate your relationships.

How To Stay Positive In spite of The Negativity Around You

Written by Josh Hinds

I'm often asked how it is that I stay so positive. Now allow me to clear up some misconceptions you might have based on that last statement. I am not one of those folks that walk around with what is commonly referred to as a career politician's smile painted across my face.

Although I do believe whole-heartedly inrepparttar power that a simple smile can impart on another. No, you see, just like everyone else, no matter how over all a positive person I am, or attempt to view things I still have my down moments.

I like to call it being human :-)

The very fact that we are just that, human, allows us all to have down times. The difference lies in how quickly we choose to get over those things that are holding us back, or making us feel at less then our personal best. And that I believe is a major key - being able to get pastrepparttar 122894 downtimes in ones life as quickly as possible and getting back on with being your best. Moving towards continuous improvement.

Remember, self-improvement is a hands on project. That is to say that without ongoing implementation and attempting ofrepparttar 122895 new ideas we learn, try as we might, we aren't going to miraculously wake up one day changed people. No, we've got to apply those ideas and bits of advice we learn.

Now if I might elaborate a bit on motivation itself. And how I believe you can better stay onrepparttar 122896 path of leading a more positive life, as well as pursuing your journey with greater motivation. I'll userepparttar 122897 saying of Zig Ziglar; he has such a simple - yet powerful way of gettingrepparttar 122898 point across...

Zig say's, "People often say motivation doesn't last, well that may be true, but neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it every day."

Now if that's not an ahhh haaaa moment for you, I'd like to ask you to really take inrepparttar 122899 simplicity of Mr. Ziglar's words. You see, that isrepparttar 122900 "gasoline" that has fueled my own journey to where I am now. It's how I stay positive in a world that others might tend to view as negative. It's how I tune out most ofrepparttar 122901 negative things around me, and tune into what's positive.

But enough about me... Most importantly, it's how you can lead a more positive daily life. And as you can see, it's not really all that complex is it?

Let's look at it another way. You wake up and you pretty much have a clean slate. In most cases your day is fresh - neither overly negative nor positive. That beingrepparttar 122902 case - and if you'll concede that what I illustrated above is true, then wouldn't it stand to reason that importing positive thoughts (i.e. reading, listening, reciting, etc.) first thing inrepparttar 122903 morning, and throughout your day could do wonders towards reprogramming your mind andrepparttar 122904 over all way in which you see your world?
