Is There Really a Difference Among Believers

Written by Paul Griffitts

Is there a difference betweenrepparttar Believer who goes to Church every Sunday andrepparttar 148642 one who doesn't? What aboutrepparttar 148643 believers who believe in water baptism and those who don't? Are we confused as a Christian population? Why allrepparttar 148644 different brands? What difference is there really among believer? Let us look atrepparttar 148645 Word of God for our answers.

With this in mind consider that there is a higher calling spoke of in Philipians and that is what I would like to take a look at here in eight simple ways.

The church ofrepparttar 148646 "Dispensation ofrepparttar 148647 Mystery" is different from all other callings in several respects. We should take note ofrepparttar 148648 different aspects and study to show ourselves approved.

1. They are a chosen out people without regard to any racial or national distinctions (Ephesians 1:4). They are chosen in Christ. They are believers chosen out a great many believers for a specific purpose. Remember that although Israel was a chosen nation, they were notrepparttar 148649 only ones who were believers.

2. The only people whose sphere of blessing is anywhere but on this earth (Ephesians 1:3). They are blest in Christ (not Abraham) in heavenly places (notrepparttar 148650 earth). Therefore they do not have part inrepparttar 148651 millennial

3. The time ofrepparttar 148652 choosing andrepparttar 148653 purpose of this group is unique. It is from beforerepparttar 148654 overthrow (Ephesians 1:4). No other family of God has this time factor. This putsrepparttar 148655 church in line to partake of a promise of eternal life made in Christ beforerepparttar 148656 ages began (Ephesians 3:6; 2 Timothy 1:1; Titus 1:2).

4. It is a people that are placed as sons (adoption) according to predetermination (Ephesians 1:5). And this position is by Jesus Christ. Again there are no racial or national distinctions in this matter as was with Israel.

Remember the Sabbath

Written by David Ben-Ariel

Did you ever stop to think why Christians keep Sunday? Did they get it fromrepparttar Bible? Is there a clear-cut command that says, "Thou shalt keep Sunday?" Why did Jesus worship on Saturday? Was it only because He was a good Jew? Or does it go beyond that? Does it make any difference which day we observe, as long as we keep one day in seven? What doesrepparttar 148641 Bible actually say? "And onrepparttar 148642 seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested onrepparttar 148643 seventh day....Then God blessedrepparttar 148644 seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from allrepparttar 148645 work He had created and made" (Gen. 2:2- 3).

Go grab a calendar. See which day isrepparttar 148646 seventh day and then you'll knowrepparttar 148647 Biblical Sabbath. And remember, GOD GAVE MANKINDrepparttar 148648 gift ofrepparttar 148649 Sabbath from creation. Adam and Eve weren't Jewish! And yet God expected them to rememberrepparttar 148650 seventh day Sabbath as a memorial of creation.

When we assemble on our God-given Sabbath, we know we're worshippingrepparttar 148651 King of Creation. Any other "sabbath" is simply man-made! The Great Creator God only blessedrepparttar 148652 seventh day with His Presence, and therefore set it apart as special. We shouldn't accept any cheap imitations or substitutes, whether it'srepparttar 148653 Muslim Friday or traditional Sunday!

Since mankind lost or neglectedrepparttar 148654 truth about God's Sabbath, repparttar 148655 Creator chose to reveal it again when He was inrepparttar 148656 process of making Israel into His Servant-Nation. God instructed them, in order that they could teach others: "Rememberrepparttar 148657 Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, butrepparttar 148658 seventh day isrepparttar 148659 Sabbath ofrepparttar 148660 LORD your God. In it you shall do no work.... For in six daysrepparttar 148661 LORD maderepparttar 148662 heavens andrepparttar 148663 earth, repparttar 148664 sea, and all that is in them, and restedrepparttar 148665 seventh day. Thereforerepparttar 148666 LORD blessedrepparttar 148667 Sabbath day and hallowed it" (Ex. 20:8-11).

Notice: God claimsrepparttar 148668 Sabbath as His. He doesn't refer to it asrepparttar 148669 "Jewish Sabbath." Though it became known as that to distinguish it fromrepparttar 148670 various pagan days of worship (Ga. 4:10). "The Lord's day" was meant for all mankind to enjoy and appreciate (Mat. 12:8; Isa. 56:6). Andrepparttar 148671 early Church, composed of both Jews and Gentiles, did celebraterepparttar 148672 proper Sabbath together for over THREE HUNDRED YEARS! That's longer thanrepparttar 148673 U.S. has known independence!

When GODrestoredrepparttar 148674 Sabbath to Israel, it wasrepparttar 148675 same SEVENTH DAY SABBATH instituted at Creation. It wasn't changed to a different day. And its purpose remainedrepparttar 148676 same: to revealrepparttar 148677 CREATOR and commemorate His majestic works of art!

Jesus honored His Father by keeping God's commandments. The fourth commandment is to rememberrepparttar 148678 Sabbath day. Christ didn't forgetrepparttar 148679 importance of attending Sabbath services (Lk. 4:16) - NEVER ON A SUNDAY- andrepparttar 148680 apostle Paul encourages us to avoidrepparttar 148681 habit of skipping Church services (Heb. 10:25). After all, it is a commanded assembly (Lev. 23:3) that offers us a chance to better understandrepparttar 148682 Scriptures (Acts 19:8). Why miss out?
