Interview with EXPERTS - PART 2Written by Gary Durkin
Interview with EXPERTS - PART 2 by Gary Durkin (c) 2004 - All Rights Reserved Worldwide.Following on PART 1, where I outlined basis and reasons for doing a project like this, here is a list of 12 questions which you could use when contacting Experts. (you can change amend as you like to suit your project) TWELVE QUESTIONS FOR INTERVIEWING THE REAL EXPERTS 1. The Internet is jam-packed with Biz-Ops, Offers, Hype and Promises. MLM, Pyramid Selling, Get Rich Quick Schemes, Gifting Programs................. Each day thousands of new people go online to find ways of replacing or supplementing their income. What pointers / advice would you give to anyone who is considering this and obvious pitfalls they can encounter? 2. One of key ingredients to success, is Multiple Income Streams. Personally, I am a firm believer in this but often newbies AND NetVeterans alike make assumption that by simply joining every available program, they can achieve a steady flow of multiple incomes, but in reality this hardly ever happens. Are you a supporter of MIS method and how would you combine successfully different products, services and / or offerings into one main business? And WHY? 3. Often, figures are banded around that some 95% of people on Net do not make money, or even lose money online. That figure is obviously difficult to prove accurately but there is still some element of truth behind it. I have helped many people to understand where go wrong, but can you give your personal top 3 reasons why you believe such a high proportion of people fail? 4. Over years, I have seen many people become disheartened by lack of 'instant financial gratification', or in other words ' making big bucks overnight!' - that they assume will happen as soon as they go online. If we took 'wake up and smell coffee' approach - in your opinion how long should people (especially inexperienced) expect to wait before they see some return of their investment, a steady flow of income and of course, their first million dollars?! And .....WHY? 5. I run three businesses, generating seven figures a year and personally earning six figures. But - it is hard work, very hard. The rewards are great and play-time is excellent! I constantly strive to work smarter NOT harder, by researching and learning (by successes AND failures!). There is I believe, a misconception that you can run an online business successfully, in a few hours (or less!) a week. Do you subscribe to this opinion? How much effort do you view as being optimal for developing, creating, growing and sustaining a successful Internet Business? And of course.....WHY? 6. Most, if not all gurus, Big Dogs, and Top Marketers tend to agree, that real money is in backend. In other words, true profit comes from follow-up sales to existing customers or to your opt-in list subscribers. Again, I totally agree. However, one of biggest problems facing many online businesses (especially new starters) is actually getting customers, and building an opt-in list. This all boils down to one thing - TRAFFIC. No traffic, No Prospects, No Customers, No Sales, No Back-end. No Profit. Can you give your top 5 traffic producing tips that would get a newbie off ground, or even to enhance traffic to a site / business who is looking to grow? 7. Technology! There are so many products, systems and software packages available today, it is overwhelming to many. Often, people will buy every piece of software, all systems and every product because they think they need it to succeed. However, that may not be case. Do you think a business can be created and run successfully with just a few key elements? Which 5 'things' do you suggest that new entrepreneurs seriously need to consider to have a successful online business. (I would prefer generic recommendations rather than blatant plugs please!!)

The Internet has brought world closer. It has made it an even smaller place than most could possibly have imagined as little as ten to fifteen years ago, even when satellites were beaming worlds highs and lows into our lounge rooms every day. Even venue has become smaller. The world isn’t appearing in our lounge rooms so much now as corner of our bedrooms or, for those fortunate enough, home offices. The Internet has changed our lives by giving us new words and new ways of speaking. While eating evening meal, some of us find ourselves asking for ‘www.salt.com’. It has brought benefits to every single person who has ability to access it but with those benefits, new language and information at our fingertips, it has also brought danger and risk. There is much written about dangers of hate, racism, some aspects of pornography and just plain ‘unwholesome’ content. However, those that are serious about ensuring that they and especially their children are protected, there are programs and settings, which will block out all but most harmless of websites. It has brought virus, spam and spyware, which for a time, threatened to make a complete shambles of whole arrangement. But technology, awareness and law have stepped in and, although these ‘evils’ will probably always be with us, they can be controlled. One of benefits that Internet has presented is proliferation of products and services, which can be bought online. This has spawned a whole new industry, other than those that manufacture and sell these items in real world. The Home Based Business. People to make, promote, market, refer and sell anything that can be bought. The Internet Payment Facilitators have arrived to make sure banks don’t get a ‘look in’ and spoil fun, with their exorbitant merchant credit card account fees and crippling trading costs. No, accepting all manner of payments over Internet securely is easy and virtually free, compared to what banks would try if they had opportunity. For person seeking a Home Based Business opportunity, things have never been so simple and less expensive, from a business point of view. People have always worked from home, that is, lucky people have always worked from home. It is now possible for anyone who has a PC and a quiet corner of a room. It’s not as easy as that but it’s possible for people who never imagined that they could enjoy such a luxury as earning their living (or even more) at their leisure, at home with their families, regardless of who they are or what their background. But sadly, this last aspect is part of a major problem. ‘No matter who they are or what their background’.
