So what do these two things have in common? On
surface, not much. If your objective is to have a long and successful career with an online business, then sustaining business success is much
same as sustaining a long and successful marriage.Recently I attended
50th wedding anniversary of my parents. As I listened to them answer questions about their life and marriage, and how they succeeded, I could see similar traits or characteristics with an online business.
I've been married for 25 years and while I'm not perfect, I've learned a thing or two through my own mistakes. :-)
Here are
common characteristics.
1) Listening - In marriage you have to listen and understand each other's wants and desires. In business you have to listen and understand
customer's wants and desires.
2) Trust - Customers will buy from you again and again if they trust that you have their best interests in mind. In marriage, trust is an essential element to make a marriage successful.
3) Communication - The root cause for most problems generally comes down to poor communication. In business if you don't communicate
benefits of your product you won't make many sales. In marriage if you don't communicate your feelings and let your partner know what is going on inside of your head,
benefit of your partnership will dissolve.
