Internet Marketing Mistakes that Traditional Business Owners make part 4Written by Andrew Clacy
The fourth, and most over looked, mistake in Internet marketing is made by business owners who spend too much money in offline advertising, when if they realized they could get a much bigger bang for their buck with online marketing methods. For years advertising agencies have gladly taken money from business owners, with a hit or miss situation. If you asked agency to track their results to see how effective their campaign really is, they would do anything to avoid your request. Yet by using Internet marketing methods, your results can change every 15 minuets. A much more cost effective method is to go to market with your product or service and find out by simple A B split testing which headline is winner and which one you should dump. Using Google’s Internet marketing system, adwords, you can determine and track where and who your customers are. Other costly mistakes can include massive colour ads in yellow pages, with little or no benefits to end user. When a much more effective strategy would be to include a Free report or trail version if people log on to your website. Then let your Internet marketing take over once they get to your website. You can send free information automatically, use a recorded message online and many other strategies once they get there from yellow pages.

The second, and biggest mistake in Internet marketing, is made by getting advice from graphic designers, and not an Internet Marketing expert. Traditionally, business owners want a great looking site, and most graphic designers, do a great job in making them look great, but it is words and relationships built through Internet Marketing that sell online. In fact some of “great” flash introductions are clicked off even before site is viewed. Other graphics are cumbersome, and take along time to load. These flaws have nothing to do with Internet marketing, they actually can cause browser to never visit site again. You would not build best looking business, with rendered walls and marble floors in middle of desert would you? So why do many business owners ignore Internet marketing and go for a web site that generates little traffic and few sales?
