If Only, If Only, If OnlyWritten by Laurie Hayes
"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in world are people who get up and look for circumstances they want and if they can't find them, make them." - George Bernard ShawIF ONLY, IF ONLY, IF ONLY Remove these words from your vocabulary! The words "If only …" are disempowering and focus solely on past. So many times people say, "If only I had chosen this career, if only I hadn't listened to her, if only I knew then what I know now …" Well, you didn't choose that career, you did listen to her and you didn't know then what you know now, so don't spend another minute fretting over past because you have no control over it. You do, however, have control over what you think, say and do now and that is where you create your power. What is important to know is that you have not failed; you have merely created a result. If you are unhappy with result, then do something about it, but do not place blame on yourself, previous circumstances or anyone else. There will be times when you make decisions that will cause you pain or move you backwards instead of forwards.

Everything God has created is made of energy. The only difference between an atom of a tree and an atom of a mushroom is that atom of a tree has energy that is vibrating at different frequencies than atom of a mushroom. It is evidently clear that same particles growing together in a tree, or in a mushroom, are because they are vibrating at same frequency. Everything is made up of energy, including thought. Thought is energy vibrating at a particular frequency. This has been proven in scientific laboratories. With proper instruments, scientists can measure frequency of thoughts, or brain waves. Thoughts are powerful forces of energy and can only come from your own mind, and we should understand things do not just happen accidentally. Everything that happens in your life happens for a reason. Since you are only one in charge of your mind, you create thoughts that create circumstances in your life. Most of what you are experiencing has been attracted by your own thoughts, for bible says, “As a man thinks, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). Since your thoughts create reality, you create your reality. So making excuses and casting blame only make you out to be victim. There is absolutely no power in playing part of a victim. I understand that it can be very difficult to change pattern of thinking you may have engaged in for so long. It’ only a habit, and habits can be changed. Instead of thinking thoughts of fear, dread, and worry, think thoughts of peace, happiness, and positive expectation. Easier said than done, I know. But, like I said, negative thinking is only a habit - a bad one. Job had engaged in negative thinking and attracted all kinds of garbage into his life. He said, “For thing which I greatly feared is come upon me” (Job 3:25). You obviously don’t want things you fear to come upon you. So, quit sending out vibrations of fear! Make a decision that you will only use your imagination for positive thoughts. Fear and worry are only mis-use of imagination.
