How to Keep Your Visitors on Your SiteWritten by Matt Colyer
Do your web site's visitors keep on hitting back button on their browser without even thinking twice and never come back? More often then not, web sites visitors are leaving fast as they came and forcing web site owner to have to relook over their web site. So, how do you keep your visitors coming back and staying longer? Below is a list of top three reasons why your visitors are not coming back to your web siteEasy and fast navigation is a must. Visitors won't be able to get around if they don't understand navigation system you have setup. Put navigation system where visitors expect it to be. Navigation should be placed at top or on left side of web site, these spots are popular places to place navigation at and for good reason too, they are visible spots and almost all visitors will see it. Other spots such as right side recently have become somewhat popular, but isn't a good spot to have navigation at, I would only use it if it was a must or as a secondarily navigation system. Also adding navigation to bottom isn't a bad idea, since some visitors will end up at bottom of page anyway, but should never be main navigation system because visitors would have to scroll down to view it. Visitors want what they are looking for fast and when I say fast I mean now. One of best ways to allow your web site's visitors to find things fast is by adding search for your web site. It's also one of greatest ways to allow visitors to find exactly what they are looking for. Remember that it's just as important to provide good results as it is to provide one in first place.

What if I told you that your website could show up on first page of results on a major search engine...today?Let me prove it to you. One of fastest ways to get targetted traffic is to pay for it. How? Use a pay-per-click search engine. A search engine is great because you know that people who come to your website were searching for what you sell. Right now, hands-down top place to go for pay-per-clicks is Google, http://www.google.com . Go to google.com now. What would your potential customer type in search box? Type that in search box. Look at results that show up for your search terms (keywords). At top and on right hand side of search results page are usually "Sponsored Links" Those are ads. Most people who search on google.com don't know google has ads. That's because google's ads look similar to their regular search results. That can make their ads very effective for their advertisers. Clever, huh? Here's best part: Advertisers don't pay for their ad showing up. They ONLY pay for a visitor. I usually set up a campaign for $5 and my ads are up and running within minutes. When you set up your ads for first time, it will take a little longer because you'll need to fill out your company info and credit card info. How much will you pay? It depends. Of course you want to pay minimum, which is $.05 (a US nickel) per click. In a competitive market, other advertisers may have bid higher, which gets them higher positioning on results page. For example, "satellite TV" is a highly competitive search term. You're not going to get on first page with a nickel bid. As I write this, to get top position on first page for "satellite TV" advertiser would need to bid around $6 per click.
