How to Journal for Your Soul by Patrice Fagnant-MacArthur

A journal can serve so many purposes. There are food journals to assist with weight loss, home improvement journals, baby keepsake journals, and travel journals, just to name a few. I started my first journal at age 15 simply because I wanted to remember what it was like to be that age, and realized that if I didn?t write it down, I would forget. Just recently, I began blank book number 12! These simple books, filled with life?s memories, are among my most prized possessions.

But what about a journal forrepparttar soul? ? a journal devoted to one?s relationship with God? What would such a journal contain? It could be a series of letters to God. Just as sometimes it is easier to write a letter or send an email as opposed to picking uprepparttar 126459 phone or having a face-to-face conversation, it can be easier to speak to God through writing. In this case, this journal would be a form of prayer, a conversation with God. Such a journal might be used to write about one?s relationship with God. It could be a place for indicating where God was for you on any given day. Did you find God in another person, inrepparttar 126460 smile of a child, inrepparttar 126461 kindness of a stranger, or perhaps in creation, in a beautiful sunrise or a crisp autumn day? When did God feel absent? Was there a time that you felt alone and abandoned? This journal might be as simple as a list of positives and negatives.

A journal forrepparttar 126462 soul might also contain a list of goals for where you would like your spiritual life to be. Would you like to devote more time to prayer? Perhaps attend church services more frequently? Spend more time appreciating nature? Be kinder to those you encounter each day? Writing down these goals can be a first step to making them a priority in your life. You could then include what steps you take to make those goals a reality. In addition, you might want to reflect on your spiritual history. Looking back at your life, can you see God at work? Do you see a plan taking shape, a direction in which you feel that you have been pushed? Were there times that you rejected God and attempted to make it on your own? What brought you back into a relationship with God? Looking at one?s past can be integral in moving to a new future.

Sealed with the Holy Spirit

Written by Michael Bradley

Atrepparttar moment of salvation when we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, three most amazing things will happen. The first is that we get automatic forgiveness for all of our sins - all past, present and future sins that we will ever commit. The second thing that will occur is that we will get to go straight to heaven when we die and cross over because we have now become saved and born again.

However, there is a third thing that will occur that some Christians really don't realize or have full knowledge of. Atrepparttar 126458 exact moment that we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and become saved and born again - we also instantaneously "receive"repparttar 126459 third person ofrepparttar 126460 Godhead -repparttar 126461 Holy Spirit Himself!

The Bible tells us that both God and Jesus live in heaven. However, when we become saved and born again - we literally get to receiverepparttar 126462 Holy Spirit Himself. He literally, and I mean iterally, comes to live onrepparttar 126463 inside of us. As you will see inrepparttar 126464 Scripture verses I will list below - our bodies have now becomerepparttar 126465 temple ofrepparttar 126466 Holy Spirit because He is now living onrepparttar 126467 inside of us!
Not only doesrepparttar 126468 Holy Spirit come to live onrepparttar 126469 inside of us as a result of accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, butrepparttar 126470 Bible also tells us that we have now become "sealed" withrepparttar 126471 Holy Spirit.

According to Webster's Dictionary, repparttar 126472 word seal means "to confirm, authenticate or guarantee - to pledge." In two Scripture verses I will list below, repparttar 126473 Bible tells us that we are givenrepparttar 126474 Holy Spirit by Godrepparttar 126475 Father as a "guarantee" and as a "deposit."

When God says that we are sealed by His Holy Spirit atrepparttar 126476 moment of salvation in Him and Jesus - He is giving us a very powerful revelation on what is actually occurring inrepparttar 126477 spiritual realm. Not only are we receivingrepparttar 126478 presence ofrepparttar 126479 Holy Spirit, but we are also being sealed with His presence.

That seal now becomes a very powerful bond between us and God. Though I do believe that it is possible for a Christian to lose his or her salvation perrepparttar 126480 article I have done on that yopic - I believe that it will take quite a bit to break this seal - this bond that we now have established with God and Jesus. This seal is not easily broken.

Here arerepparttar 126481 specific verses fromrepparttar 126482 Bible that tell us that we will "receive"repparttar 126483 Holy Spirit atrepparttar 126484 moment of salvation, that our bodies have now becomerepparttar 126485 temple ofrepparttar 126486 Holy Spirit and that we have now been "sealed" withrepparttar 126487 presence ofrepparttar 126488 Holy Spirit.

1. Receivingrepparttar 126489 Holy Spirit atrepparttar 126490 Moment of Salvation

This first verse will tell us that we receiverepparttar 126491 Holy Spirit atrepparttar 126492 moment of our salvation with Jesus - not sometime later. Here it is:

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized inrepparttar 126493 name of Jesus Christ forrepparttar 126494 remission of sins; and you shall receiverepparttar 126495 gift ofrepparttar 126496 Holy Spirit. Forrepparttar 126497 promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many asrepparttar 126498 Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:38)
Notice that this verse is talking about those who are actually getting saved. When you "repent" and you are getting "remission" for your sins - you are inrepparttar 126499 process of getting saved by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You cannot truly repent and get forgiveness and remission for your sins unless you first are willing to accept Jesus as your Savior.

Then notice whatrepparttar 126500 verse says next. After you have repented and have accepted Jesus as your Savior - then you will receiverepparttar 126501 gift ofrepparttar 126502 Holy Spirit Himself. I believe that this verse is telling us that we will receiverepparttar 126503 Holy Spiritrepparttar 126504 moment we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. It will happen right then and there - not sometime later.

Some people will get saved and water baptized atrepparttar 126505 same time. Others get saved, and then baptized at a later date. The Holy Spirit will come into you atrepparttar 126506 moment you get saved - not atrepparttar 126507 moment you go through a water baptism. If you go throughrepparttar 126508 water baptism at a later date -repparttar 126509 Holy Spirit is not going to wait until you do that. He will enter into you right atrepparttar 126510 moment that you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior - no matter where that may take place at.

2. Our Bodies Are Nowrepparttar 126511 Temple ofrepparttar 126512 Holy Spirit The above Scripture verse tells us that we will "receive"repparttar 126513 Holy Spirit atrepparttar 126514 moment of salvation. So once we receive Him - exactly where does He go? The next set of verses will tell us that He will literally come to enter onrepparttar 126515 inside of us.

The Bible says that we have three parts to our beings - body, soul and spirit. Our human spirits are referred to our as our "innermost being" byrepparttar 126516 Bible. The Holy Spirit will enter into and actually live and dwell in your human spirit. As a result ofrepparttar 126517 Holy Spirit now living onrepparttar 126518 inside of us in our human spirits -repparttar 126519 Bible tells us that our bodies have now becomerepparttar 126520 "temple" ofrepparttar 126521 Holy Spirit since we now carry His presence onrepparttar 126522 inside of us.
