One of my great passions in life, if you could call it that is playing snooker. I became interested in snooker from watching players like Alex Higgins and Jimmy White in 1980s.At age of around ten, I was bought a small five foot snooker table for Christmas. It was probably one of best Christmas presents I was ever bought. I would seemingly be never off this little snooker table and would invite some of my friends round to also play. When I was twelve, I joined a snooker club with a close friend of mine and we started to play on full size snooker tables. The tables looked so massive and suddenly art of playing snooker became that much harder. My first aim was to get a break of ten, which was then followed with a break of twenty. I became quite obsessed and some would say quite sad, as whenever I had any spare time or spare cash I would go down to snooker club to practice. I would even practice their on my own. My ultimate goal was not to become a professional like my idols, Higgins and White but to achieve a break of one hundred.

Youve heard it said dozens of times. Golf is a game of “feel”. You just know instinctively when somethings right or wrong for you.It sounds a little confusing, doesnt it? Lets try to take that vague feeling and put it into words and action. First off, lets address technique of swinging with all your might. If you swing really hard, then you cant get feel of a correctly hit ball and your muscles dont learn feel of correct balance. When players have feel of shot, their muscles and sense of touch are tuned in to correct gauge and balance and they just know they can hit ball. When you want to lunge at ball, your power should be developed by twisting your body. If you learn this, it wont take 3 or 4 years before youre hitting ball a good distance. When you keep failing with a certain shot, just stop and think what youre doing, what youre trying to accomplish. Dont try any certain method unless you have a definite purpose for using it. Always remember basics. Think in your mind how it feels to prepare properly for a shot. One important point is that its not necessary to feel power during stroke. You want to swing easily. Its energy thats transferred to ball that counts. Get rid of every little detail that destroys your balance and youll get on right track. Cut out everything thats not comfortable. Your ability to keep your balance and be comfortable is measure of amount of power you can use successfully. Many players lift their heads at last instant. This doesnt add power to stroke. It actually takes power away from it.
