Home Décor: Use Feng Shui for Optimum HealthWritten by Mary M. Alward
Feng means wind. Shui means water. For centuries, Chinese have used power of Feng Shui in their homes to promote well being and optimum health. Wind and water react to changing of moon, motion of earth and changing temperatures. Today, Feng Shui is used for modern living and has been adapted to promote good chi (energy.) Because of limited living space, we sometimes are unable to avoid negative chi. However by moving furniture and experimenting, it’s possible to get most positive flow of wind and water in our environment. Let’s take a look at some things that will cause chi to flow more positively throughout your home. - Never allow shoes or boots to sit outside
door of your home. Keep area clean and de-cluttered. The chi can bring sickness into your home if area is dirty or has a lot of clutter in it. - Have a water source, such as a fountain or fish tank in your home. Chi will search for water in which to stay. If there is none, it will vanish in
wind. - There should be no mirrors in your bedroom. The importance of mirror placement is crucial in your home.
- Keep television sets out of
bedroom. The will effect positive chi. - Place a water fountain in your home and face it toward
center of house to attract desires of your life. - Add a fish tank to
room in your house where you and your family spend most time. Water gives chi a place to stay and will bring good fortune into your home if placed correctly. - Never allow children to sleep on
floor. Chi should be able to flow freely under beds and throughout room to keep children healthy. - Be certain not to place refrigerators, sinks or washing machines directly across
room from your stove. Fire and water are not compatible and this will cause negative chi in your kitchen, which leads to arguments and disagreements that will not be resolved.
| | Cortisol Blockers - Fab or Fad?Written by Christine Cooney
Americans are more stressed and more overweight than ever. It seems logical that two are related, so why not jump on latest of diet trends and pop that cortisol-blocking pill? Before you do, read on to navigate your way through this latest weight loss scheme.
The hormone cortisol is released in response to stress. Its secretion causes a series of metabolical processes with eventual result of making us hungrier and prompting us to eat more. Most of time cortisol levels return to normal before causing any real damage to our phsyique. It's only when cortisol levels remain high that its affects can be seen as weight gain.
In some people, chronic stress can cause cortisol to remain at elevated levels. In such cases, people are not only eating more, but also storing more of what they eat. Cortisol appears to cause body to store fat in abdomen, as dangerous "belly fat."
These people should consider cortisol blockers such as Cortislim, right? Guess again. There isn't any scientific evidence that so-called "cortisol reducing ingredients" found in these supplements have any affect on their target.
Even if blockers worked, one should be cautious in taking them. Cortisol does more than cause us to increase our eating. It plays a vital role in other metabolic functions as well - including cardiovascular system, and your brain. Minimize cortisol too much and it can have a negative affect on your body. Too little, and you can die.
