Has Internet Marketing come of age?

"Has Internet Marketing come of age?"

...this is one question that constantly comes to my mind, whenever I visit a portal and see a neatly designed slug or a really tempting subject line waiting to be read, only to give an impetus torepparttar guy responsible forrepparttar 118407 campaign, giving him an extra number inrepparttar 118408 campaign's open rate.

This gives me food for thought whether Internet Marketing is here to stay or is it just a passing cloud. Whatever, repparttar 118409 case may be, Internet Marketing is one segment that has been growing enormously, making its wayrepparttar 118410 world over, breaking all boundaries. One advantagerepparttar 118411 Internet enjoys compared to Television, Newspaper ads isrepparttar 118412 fact that while you sit in New York, you can think of a simple marketing campaign targeted towards Thailand, which is onrepparttar 118413 other side ofrepparttar 118414 world. Now, no other kind of media will allow you this direct access. Yes, there are ways to do it, however, when you think of a direct Internet Marketing campaign, then I haven’t seen anything like this before.

This brings us torepparttar 118415 obvious question. Will Internet marketing survive or will it stagnate as it reaches a saturation point. Well, repparttar 118416 last we saw was whenrepparttar 118417 dotcom bubble burst and instantly millionaires were back to where they started, not to forgetrepparttar 118418 millionaires it did make duringrepparttar 118419 hay days. However, a few companies braced themselves up forrepparttar 118420 bleak period that lay ahead of them, only to realize thatrepparttar 118421 wait was worth it. The companies that survivedrepparttar 118422 dotcom burst have now become household names for many.

Not to forgetrepparttar 118423 fact about Google's IPO, and other search engines brought to lightrepparttar 118424 power ofrepparttar 118425 Internet, which was when people started taking this media seriously. What was known as taboo long ago, thanks torepparttar 118426 instant awareness of anonymity & convenient access to pornography, has now become a part of business meetings of companies, andrepparttar 118427 fact that a certain amount of their marketing expenditure is set aside towardsrepparttar 118428 Internet Media is proof enough.

So, what we see here was first, a mad gold rush towardsrepparttar 118429 Internet, which later collapsed. The few companies that survived, coupled withrepparttar 118430 aggressive marketing methods adopted by Search Engines "Google" per se, coupled withrepparttar 118431 various policies andrepparttar 118432 increased awareness of SPAM.

In other words, repparttar 118433 negative ofrepparttar 118434 Internet has helped to bring it torepparttar 118435 place where it belongs now. Quite frankly, how many people were aware of SPAM, untilrepparttar 118436 issue was raised and taken seriously torepparttar 118437 extent thatrepparttar 118438 Government had to approve it? Not to forgetrepparttar 118439 fact that Google, which was just another site quite some years ago, has now established itself asrepparttar 118440 premier search engine onrepparttar 118441 Internet.

Getting nostalgic, I rememberrepparttar 118442 first site I visited when I was introduced torepparttar 118443 Internet way back inrepparttar 118444 mid nineties. Yahoo! Well, it seemed a bit absurd of a name for me, but I remember, Yahoo at that time, humble in its own way, just staring out ofrepparttar 118445 computer screen. Coming back torepparttar 118446 present, repparttar 118447 feeling you get when you look at Yahoo! is that of aggressiveness and dominance, sitting there, commanding respect.

The future of Search Engine Marketing

Coming back torepparttar 118448 present, and thinking aboutrepparttar 118449 future, I see a major scuttle betweenrepparttar 118450 BIG 3 ofrepparttar 118451 Internet (Google, Yahoo! and MSN) battling it out forrepparttar 118452 supremacy. And whenrepparttar 118453 BIG 3 are involved, then why shouldrepparttar 118454 millions of other sites not be left behind? In terms of Search Engines andrepparttar 118455 various marketing vehicles available, we should not be surprised to see an improvement in terms ofrepparttar 118456 keyword relevancy.

Who knows, repparttar 118457 next time, you type inrepparttar 118458 word "Rose, you might be asked whether you are researchingrepparttar 118459 word, or locating a florist, or whether you want to send flowers to someone. Once we achieve this, and I am sure that as I write, some search engines are actually testing this out, we can know ofrepparttar 118460 obvious. The increase inrepparttar 118461 demand for people who can ensure that your site comes up, and I mean, relevance. Also, not to forgetrepparttar 118462 Paid Inclusions, getting more strict in terms ofrepparttar 118463 bid amount heading towardsrepparttar 118464 north, and sites battling it out towardsrepparttar 118465 top slot, coupled with an anti-fraud features to ensure that your competitor does not waste your money by hiring someone to click on it through outrepparttar 118466 day.

Begun, The Browser Wars have

As Mozilla Firefox nears 10% market share, with well over 25 million downloads direct fromrepparttar makers website, and goodness knows how many through other sources, Microsoft announces that it will be releasing IE 7 ahead of schedule. Originally scheduled for release with Microsoft’s new Longhorn operating system in 2006, it seems that Microsoft are reacting torepparttar 118406 run away success that Firefox has had overrepparttar 118407 last few months. But is Microsoft’s announcement just a response to Firefox’s success, or is it truly a commitment byrepparttar 118408 software giant to improverepparttar 118409 browsing experience ofrepparttar 118410 masses?

I’m going to make no secret about it; I am a Firefox user first and foremost. Ever since I first looked at Firefox and sawrepparttar 118411 features such as power tabbing, proper support for Internet standards andrepparttar 118412 integrated search bar, I’ve been in love with this browser. To me Internet Explorer has not a patch onrepparttar 118413 competition, and without a major update soon will surely fall behind. When Microsoft announced their plans to bring forward Internet Explorer 7 I was very interested in what they had to offer. Competition isrepparttar 118414 life-blood of progress, and if Microsoft were to seriously invest in their browser it would be of great advantage to Internet users as a whole. Unfortunately, I was disappointed at what emerged. It seems that all Microsoft are doing is making some nebulous claims as to ‘increasingrepparttar 118415 security’ of their browser. No mention of tabbing, increased standards support or any ofrepparttar 118416 other features of Firefox which IE are sorely lacking. To me it seems that all Microsoft’s latest release aims to do is distract people in an attempt to out-hype Firefox.
