Good Grief, I Learned a Lot, Charlie Brown!Written by Jim M. Allen
For 50 years daily comic strip 'Peanuts' entertained millions of readers. Every day, adventures of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and whole gang provided many laugh-out-loud moments while at same time offering a daily inspiration and lessons on life. With recent death of 'Peanuts' creator Charles Schulz, I reflect on how much I enjoyed sharing adventures of 'Peanuts' gang and I remember many lessons they taught me... 1. It's okay to be afraid... just don't let your fears control you. Charlie Brown often sat in bed and spoke of his fears, but no matter how scared he was, he always did things he wanted to do. 2. Persistence wins out. Charlie Brown often lost, failed at much, but he never gave up. Even though he knew Lucy was going to pull football away before he could kick it.... Even though he knew tree was going to eat his kite... Even though he knew his team would lose ball game, he kept on trying. 3. It's what you think of yourself that counts. Linus carried a security blanket for years and his friends laughed at him. They also laughed at him because he believed in "Great Pumpkin." Pigpen was a walking cloud of dust and dirt and was often regarded unkindly. Both characters, however, were always proud of themselves and believed they were as good as anybody else -- and they were right. 4. Sometimes you need to talk. One thing 'Peanuts' gang understood was importance of talking things out. Whether leaning up against Schroeder's piano or atop brick wall, they always had someplace to discuss what was of concern to them.
| | Now is the Time for ChangeWritten by Michelle L. Casto
Planet Earth is ripe for change. Everywhere you look, change is occurring: for individual, families, corporations, communities, states, countries, and ultimately world. The pace of change has increased to keep up with human desire to create more change. You wouldn’t have to look very far in your own life to identify something you would like to change. Now is perfect time to transform yourself physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually or otherwise. As Dr. Richard Gerber has stated, “The discord and unrest occurring upon planet at this time is a higher reflection of emotional and spiritual imbalances that exist in many people throughout world. We must begin to heal dis-ease and distress at level of causes and not just at superficial world of physical effects. In order to accept and work with vibrational healing methods, one must begin to make transition toward personal transformation that is necessary before true physical and spiritual healing can occur.” What you may have noticed is that it is time for a change. What you probably don’t know is how to go about transforming your life. The first thing you need to learn about change, is that in order to change your outer reality, you must transform your inner programming. All change begins with you---on inside---your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about how life works or doesn’t work determine what you will create in your outer world. Gathering information is an important first step in change process, making smart decisions is also key, but listening to your soul’s callings is very best way to call forth change into your life.
