One ofrepparttar basic skills to great success is great communication. Learn some ofrepparttar 129036 easy secrets to understandingrepparttar 129037 people around you.

My name is Steve Brummet My business is to speak to businesses, teams, schools, churches, non profit organizations and just people about improving their communication skills. Most communication experts agree that good communication starts with understanding.

If we develop skills that help us better understand people, wont we be able to become better teachers, coaches, parents, salespeople and business people? Doesn’t it make sense that if we learn to be more effective in our communication everything around us will change forrepparttar 129038 better?

I am asked allrepparttar 129039 time;

“Can’t I be a good communicator by just opening my mouth and sayingrepparttar 129040 words? Won’t most people understand what I’m trying to say?”

I am going to answer that question by giving you a few examples of bad communication.

I had a good night tradition for my kids when they were little. Every evening since before they could talk, I would say good night and tuck them into bed a certain way.

“Alizabeth Kai Brummet. You arerepparttar 129041 most wonderful and amazing Alizabeth Kai Brummet inrepparttar 129042 whole wide world. God loves you . God made you and justrepparttar 129043 you are is special. Alizabeth Kai, God has a wonderful plan for your life. Goodnight, sweet dreams, I love you.”

All I wanted to do was let my children know that they were very special and very loved. Simple, sweet and impossible to misunderstand. Right? Well…

One night I was telling Kai goodnight and when I got torepparttar 129044 part about - “Alizabeth Kai, God has a wonderful plan for your life.” She stopped me and asked;

Precious Moments

There is too much learning out there that we earn drop by drop as we go through experiences in life. There is one ofrepparttar experiences that I earned from a workshop on Leadership Skills and Management.

There were managers from different companies who were there to attendrepparttar 129034 workshop. We all were waiting forrepparttar 129035 host to startrepparttar 129036 workshop and there was an aura that could be felt around. The presenter ofrepparttar 129037 workshop walked up torepparttar 129038 writing board and wrote Who Am I? and asked allrepparttar 129039 managers to take 10 minutes and think on it and keeprepparttar 129040 answers to ourselves. There was pin drop silence inrepparttar 129041 room and everyone was thinkingrepparttar 129042 answer of that, that was a moment to be heard, there was silence all around, but too many voices could be heard inrepparttar 129043 silence, as everyone was talking to themselves. This first question was really an eye opener.

The second big value that we learnt wasrepparttar 129044 importance of Behavior. The presenter just becamerepparttar 129045 manager and told us that we all are employees, some ofrepparttar 129046 participants smiled, and he became more harsh saying that he doesn’t like anyone to smile in his presence, this sounded so odd, but he was making himself clear as to how a deep impact one has onrepparttar 129047 colleagues whomrepparttar 129048 managers work with day to day and how important it is to learn as to how importantrepparttar 129049 behaviors are and to listen ourselves with ears wide open as to how we interact. Another lesson learnt.

Every single word that we heard, held great values in it. Like, “Decisions should be based on Values”. There was this very interesting piece of information that how bad politics severely damagesrepparttar 129050 organization and takes it years behind inrepparttar 129051 goals and targets that are to be achieved, and onrepparttar 129052 other hand how working together hand in hand and being sincere to organization and its growth can take an organization up, up and up. Being loyal.
