God's Chosen Vessel

God's Chosen Vessel

"The earth trembles under an unloved woman..."

Proverbs 30:21-23

Leah was always second best, inrepparttar eyes of Jacob and inrepparttar 135725 eyes of others. Her sister Rachel was always being exalted over her. We see a perfect example of this in Genesis 31, verse 33.

Even though it had been Rachel who had stolen Laban's household gods, when it came torepparttar 135726 searching ofrepparttar 135727 tents, Rachel wasrepparttar 135728 one who was searched last because Jacob and Laban suspected herrepparttar 135729 least.

And whenever Jacob and his family were reuniting once again with Esau and he feared for their safety (Genesis 33:2), Jacob putrepparttar 135730 maidservants and their children in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph inrepparttar 135731 rear because he knew they'd be safest there.

"Jacob ... loved Rachel more than Leah ..." (Genesis 29:30)

Often, it seems as if God's chosen ones are nothing more than second class citizens, inrepparttar 135732 eyes ofrepparttar 135733 world. So it was with Leah.

Leah wasrepparttar 135734 one who was ignored--unwanted by everyone but God, that is! She wasrepparttar 135735 one He chose to motherrepparttar 135736 tribe of Judah--His Son's tribe. Leah was His chosen vessel! (Genesis 35:23)

God of All Comfort

God heardrepparttar boy crying, andrepparttar 135724 angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, "What isrepparttar 135725 matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heardrepparttar 135726 boy crying as he lies there." Genesis 21:17

Oh, Lord, I see, in this verse, an example of Your compassion. You care so deeply for Your wounded, bleeding, children (even thoserepparttar 135727 world considers outcasts) that You even hear their teardrops fall! That's what Your angel told Hagar.
