Glorify thy NameWritten by Joyce C. Lock
Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. Ye that fear LORD, praise him; all ye seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye seed of Israel. Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto most High: And call upon me in day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O LORD; and shall glorify thy name. I will praise thee, O LORD my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. Wherefore glorify ye LORD in fires, even name of LORD God of Israel in isles of sea. Therefore shall strong people glorify thee, city of terrible nations shall fear thee. Thou hast increased nation, O LORD, thou hast increased nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all ends of earth. Sing, O ye heavens; for LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel. Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from womb; from bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified. Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of LORD thy God, and for Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. All flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify house of my glory. Surely isles shall wait for me, and ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto name of LORD thy God, and to Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee. Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit land for ever, branch of my planting, work of my hands, that I may be glorified. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, oil of joy for mourning, garment of praise for spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, planting of LORD, that he might be glorified. Hear word of LORD, ye that tremble at his word; your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. And say, Thus saith LORD God; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in midst of thee: and they shall know that I am LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her. Yea, all people of land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown day that I shall be glorified, saith LORD God. Go up to mountain, and bring wood, and build house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith LORD. Ye are light of world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to sick of palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. Insomuch that multitude wondered, when they saw dumb to speak, maimed to be whole, lame to walk, and blind to see: and they glorified God of Israel. And immediately he arose, took up bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. And shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. And Jesus returned in power of Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day. And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God. Now when centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. (But this spake he of Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, town of Mary and her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for glory of God, that Son of God might be glorified thereby. On next day much people that were come to feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is King of Israel that cometh in name of Lord. And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt. These things understood not his disciples at first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
| | Holy, Holy, HolyWritten by Joyce C. Lock
There is none holy as Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. Glory ye in his holy name: let heart of them rejoice that seek Lord. As for me, I will come into thy house in multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. There is a river, streams whereof shall make glad city of God, holy place of tabernacles of most High. A father of fatherless, and a judge of widows, is God in his holy habitation. The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in holy place. O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God. I will also praise thee with psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. For Lord is our defence; and Holy One of Israel is our king. Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy. Exalt ye Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy. Exalt Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for Lord our God is holy. Glory ye in his holy name: let heart of them rejoice that seek Lord. For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant. He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. My mouth shall speak praise of Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. The fear of Lord is beginning of wisdom: and knowledge of holy is understanding. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is Lord of hosts: whole earth is full of his glory. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for earth shall be full of knowledge of Lord, as waters cover sea. Ye shall have a song, as in night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into mountain of Lord, to mighty One of Israel. That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that hand of Lord hath done this, and Holy One of Israel hath created it. As for our redeemer, Lord of hosts is his name, Holy One of Israel. The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in eyes of all nations; and all ends of earth shall see salvation of our God. For thy Maker is thine husband; Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer Holy One of Israel; The God of whole earth shall he be called. Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in glory of his Father with holy angels. For David himself said by Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. To perform mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant. As it is written in law of Lord, Every male that openeth womb shall be called holy to Lord. And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and same man was just and devout, waiting for consolation of Israel: and Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen Lord's Christ. And Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give Holy Spirit to them that ask him? And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. For he was a good man, and full of Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto Lord. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all flock, over which Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Wherefore law is holy, and commandment holy, and just, and good. For if firstfruit be holy, lump is also holy: and if root be holy, so are branches. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. For kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in Holy Ghost.
