Gift Baskets - Create Simple Easy Gifts For the Person Who Has Everything!Written by Donna Hamer
Have you ever thought about giving a personalized Gift Basket? Is it just me or do you also get excited when you give a gift to your friends and family and you know they love it! The downside you give a gift and you just know they hate it! Unfortunately you can’t always get it right because what seems right and appropriate gift for you isn’t always right and appropriate for person you are buying for. Take my mother for instance, if you don’t buy her a gift say for Mothers Day you will be in bad books for weeks. Now before you agree with her, let me ask you this “What do you give someone who has everything”? If you could walk around this ladies house you would understand my problem! Well over years I have learnt how to stay in her good books by creating something different and unique every year. I also like to make it a gift that I make, so its personal and comes from heart. Yes you guessed it a personalized “gift basket”. Leading up to occasion, I take some time to think about things that Mum has said she liked over year and things that she has pointed out in a book that she might like. Then I go about looking for items that would fit into a theme that I can put together into a “Basket”. She loves “glass bowls” so I try to use a glass bowl as “basket” for my gift and then fill it with items that she likes. It could be as simple as some pampering items or a night out to movies such as popcorn, candies, a drink, chocolates and two movie tickets etc.

Sailing Theory The sum of all wind pressure on sail is called wind force. The center of that force, which is above water, is called center of effort (CE). The center of force below surface of water is calledthe center of lateral resistance (CLR). This is point where all boat's resistance to sideways pressure is concentrated. A boat performs best when two forces are in balance. This is when they are positioned one over other in a vertical line through boat's sail and hull. Your job as a sailor is to keep these two forces in proper balance so that your boat will sail correctly. You keep boat balanced by shifting your weight and adjusting your sail. Your boat has weather helm when you have to constantly pull tiller towards you to keep boat straight on course. Lee helm is when you do opposite; pushing tiller towards sail. Most boats are designed to have a little weather helm. However, too much of it can make sailing difficult in anything other than light breezes. If your boat has a lot of weather helm, it means CE and CLR are not in alignment. There is more sail pressure aft of CLR than forward of it. To correct balance, 1. Shift your weight aft (back towards stern). 2. Pull up centerboard. 3. If your boat has a jib, ease (let out) mainsail. 4. Try any combination of these. Weather- The Sea Breeze
