Do you run a dynamic team? Are you proactive in your management?

Or are you and your team are in a rut? Do you just produce what is necessary and no more? Are you missing that vital spark?

Here are some simple steps to take to get you out of that rut at get yourself and your team moving again. Check yourself. Are you doing these things?

Make a start.

If you never make that first step you will never finish anything. So whatever task or project you have ahead of you, get going on it. Even if you don’t have allrepparttar facts available to you, or allrepparttar 104851 resources you need to complete it. Atrepparttar 104852 very least make a start by listing those missing elements. Once you know what is missing you can then set about finding it.

But you must take some action. Do something. Don’t just dream or think about it. The momentum for success will build on its own once you have setrepparttar 104853 ball rolling. Each little task completed takes you that little bit closer torepparttar 104854 end result. Each little task completed makesrepparttar 104855 road ahead that much clearer. Each little task completed reduces what you still have to do. So getrepparttar 104856 show onrepparttar 104857 road.

Look ahead and anticipate.

Think about what may happen. Think about what could go wrong. Have a contingency plan. Be ready forrepparttar 104858 unexpected. If you do your forward thinking properly there will be very little that really is totally unexpected.

But don’t let it get you down. Don’t letrepparttar 104859 thought of what could go wrong stop you attemptingrepparttar 104860 new andrepparttar 104861 unconventional. Try new methods. Learn from experience. Take risks in a controlled and thoughtful way, but don’t be afraid to take them. As has been said many times, repparttar 104862 only way to be sure of never making a mistake is never to attempt anything.

Set priorities.

Decide which tasks arerepparttar 104863 most important and concentrate on them. Do first those things that really pushrepparttar 104864 work forward. Unessential tasks should be left till later or eliminated altogether even though they might be attractive things to do.

Don’t put off unpleasant tasks. Do them as and when your plan dictates. Tackle them regularly. Do them first thing inrepparttar 104865 morning before moving on to something more enjoyable. That way your day will get better as it goes on instead ofrepparttar 104866 reverse. Keep something good to look forward to.

Whatever you do, stick to your priorities. Only change them for good well thought out and justified reasons. Don’t let them slip just because you don’t fancy a particularly unpleasant task that is next onrepparttar 104867 list.

Difficult Challenges? -- What If?

Written by Miami Phillips

WEEKLY WISDOM NEWSLETTER Difficult Challenges? -- What If? December 5, 2003

Sometimes life can seem like one long series of unsolvable problems. I know there have been times when I would much rather find something else to do and quit whatever I was doing simply because it was too much trouble to continue. In fact, earlier in my life that is exactly what I did do. (And to tellrepparttar truth, I wouldn't change it even if I could!)

However, I think there comes a time in every one's life when we want a result. This result could be a goal, dream, or some other desirable end result that we are willing to sacrifice for but maybe we just are not quite sure how. It could be thatrepparttar 104850 challenges that stand inrepparttar 104851 way seem to be too difficult to overcome.

Sound familiar? I bet we all have been there, or are there now.

First, let's agree that challenges we face always look worserepparttar 104852 more we look at them andrepparttar 104853 harder we work to meet them. Especially if these challenges don't go away. Many times we get so close torepparttar 104854 situation that we are unable to see allrepparttar 104855 options.

Here are some suggestions to find more options.

First: Write in a list form everything that you see facing you as a challenge or a problem. Just seeing this information on paper gives you a psychological edge over it because you are aware that you are doing something, taking action.

Second: For each challenge come up with allrepparttar 104856 options you can think of using a What if? scenario. Do not rule anything out at all!

You can use a positive What if? such as:

What if this problem did not exist? What would that be like?

What if I could really solve this? What would I do?

What if turned this challenge into a benefit? What would that look like?

What if I broke this problem into smaller problems? What would that look like? Or you can use a negative What if? such as:
