Friends, it's time to get 'favor-minded'

Written by John Tyler

According to God's word, his favor surrounds us like a shield.

Wow, that is an awesome thought.

You ought to write Psalm 5:12 on an index card and tape it to your refrigerator.

I did!

"For surely, O Lord, you blessrepparttar righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield."

God didn't put anything inrepparttar 126800 book he didn't want us to take to heart, and I really feel 90 percent ofrepparttar 126801 problems we blame onrepparttar 126802 devil would be eliminated if we just started disciplining ourselves to view our circumstances throughrepparttar 126803 eyes of God.

As Christians, I know we all believe God's word. But ask yourself this question: Ifrepparttar 126804 Living God, creator of everything seen and unseen has supernaturally surrounded you with his favor and provision, why are you worried aboutrepparttar 126805 light bill?

Nine times out of ten, we are fretting and worrying because we have chosen to believerepparttar 126806 enemy's assessment of our situation instead of God's.

When our minds start believingrepparttar 126807 enemy's lies, we need to remind ourselves of what God says about us. Doubt and unbelief may cause you to feel that you are not good enough, or qualified enough, or attractive enough.

Tellrepparttar 126808 enemy, outloud, that according to God's word you were wonderfully and fearfully made and you are well able to do exactly what God has called you to do. Whenrepparttar 126809 enemy lies to you and tells you you'll never get married, you declare to him that your God will withold no good thing when you walk uprightly.

Whenrepparttar 126810 money is running low inrepparttar 126811 checking account and rent is due, throw your hands up towardrepparttar 126812 sky and thankrepparttar 126813 Creator of everything that he supplies all of your needs according to his riches in glory.

It is this type of faith and expectancy that activates God's promises and provision in your life. Concentrate on becoming favor-minded. In every situation and in every circumstance, realize his desires for you are to prosper you and not to harm you (Jer. 29:14).

In every circumstance or trial you face:

1. You must admit that God is fully able to meet your need.

2. Find promises in his word that directly relate to your need and clearly illustrate that he wants to meet that need.

3. Declare, outloud, his promise so he,repparttar 126814 enemy, and you can hear it. Repeat it every time doubt or fear try to raise their ugly head again.

4. Pray and wait on him.

Folks, when we combine prayer with a new commitment to saturating our mind with his word, we are conducting spiritual warfare.

In 2 Corinthians 10, Paul writes that "the weapons we fight with are notrepparttar 126815 weapons ofrepparttar 126816 world. Onrepparttar 126817 contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."

Get A Big Picture View Of God's Goodness and Mercy

Written by John Tyler

God’s goodness and mercy in your life will always be part of a larger picture.

When Jesus used Peter and John to healrepparttar crippled beggar in Acts 3, it had several powerful effects.

The first of which, obviously, was a man received freedom from an incredibly painful, life-long ordeal. This is just another portrait ofrepparttar 126799 compassionate nature of our God, to touch us and heal us where we hurtrepparttar 126800 most.

But secondly, this miracle had a residual effect forrepparttar 126801 kingdom of God. Others were touched by God’s kindness and mercy in this man’s life.

When allrepparttar 126802 people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him asrepparttar 126803 same man who used to sit begging atrepparttar 126804 temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him (Acts 3:9).

We don’t know precisely how long this man had sat crippled outsiderepparttar 126805 temple gate, butrepparttar 126806 word does tell us he was there every day. That means many people knew of this man’s condition and former way of life.

We may not have walked out of a wheelchair, or been healed of a life-long sickness or ordeal, but there is not one of us who hasn’t been greatly touched by him in some way. In itself, repparttar 126807 fact he has saved us from our lost, sinful state is a miracle.

I know we are all immensely grateful for God’s love, mercy and goodness in our lives. Where would we be without it? But God wants that goodness to not only flow to us, but through us as well.

I don't know about you, but when people look at my life, I want them to clearly see his hand moving there. Just like inrepparttar 126808 case of this crippled man, I want them to say, “There is something different about him today.” I want his touch in my life to bring glory and praise to Jesus.
