No matter how much preparation you have given to your wedding or reviewed details; some things can just happen.

One week before my wedding, my father announced he was going in for a major colon operation. Unfortunately, there was no way he could re-schedule this operation and there was also no way we could re-schedule wedding.

We just had to go on. The operation was a success but by time wedding hit he was still in hospital and was only able to come to wedding to walk me down aisle. The poor guy helped pay for party, had tons of friends there and had to leave. It sucked but there was absolutely nothing we could do about it. It was just way things played out.

You can never know what might happen. But, main thing is to go on. My dad not being at my wedding was a huge glitch in my day but it also helped me overlook all other things.

Say for example:

¤ My fiancé getting a black eye day before wedding while kickboxing

¤ The spa screwing up my booking for my pedicure and manicure (on positive, they did get bridesmaid’s correct)

¤ My aunt spilling a full glass of red wine all down front of my mothers (pink) dress

There are endless locations where you can hold your wedding.

Think outside of box and try some unusual attractions instead of traditional community hall or hotel. Here are a few suggestions on selecting your location:

¤ Are you in love with twinkle of cityscape lights at night? Try holding your wedding in a skyscraper! Many buildings have corporate rooms that you could rev up for your wedding.

¤ Are you a book worm – did you meet your fiancé at school? What about holding your affair at a library? You are sure to find an “aisle” you can parade down.
