Fall - A New Season - A New Decorating SchemeWritten by Bonnie P. Carrier
What exactly is fall? Being my favorite season, I decided to look it up and see how Mr. Webster defines it. Flipping to “fall” I found “autumn”, OK, turning to that it reads, “autumn, season that comes between summer and winter”. Well, that’s pretty cut and dry and I think most of us already know that, so here is my interpretation.“Autumn; cool days leading into brisk nights. Fresh picked apples, leaves ablaze with color, pumpkins, gourds, Halloween, Thanksgiving and a brand new opportunity to decorate your home”. I’m not sure about you, but one of reasons I love fall is with cooler temperatures, I seem to have a renewed energy level. Daily activities are suddenly not such an effort. Think about things you can do with this newfound energy. Giving your home a good cleaning (after all who wants to do that when it’s 90 and humidity level is so high it feels like it could rain inside your home), sorting through and discarding unwanted items in closets, drawers and cupboards. Admiring mother natures magnificent color show while taking walks with family or a favorite four-legged fur baby. As mentioned above, this is also an opportunity for change in your homes décor. Now I’m not talking about a complete redo, just adding accessories that are fall related is all that’s needed. Add some warm throws over back or arms of furniture, change out accent pillows to something with a fall print or warmer colors, even just one or two pillows can make a difference. Swap out summer flower arrangements for new ones that have a fall theme. Take a walk around your yard or in a neighborhood park or state forest and look for things to use, like unusual shaped twigs, pinecones, acorns and seedpods. Mixing these with store bought silk mums, preserved leaves or cat -o-nine tails in any type of container you may have will give a fall look to any surface.

Digital Memories The hottest thing on internet right now is digital photos, how to protect them and what service to choose and with good reason! Because currently one trillion photographs need to be digitally formatted and saved before they are lost forever and each day number increases. For most of us few things in life are more valuable than time we spend with family and friends. We often capture these moments with pictures that help us remember those special times. But how does we prevent our memories to be lost and forgot? Have you ever wondered where all of your family photos are? Are you like so many others always planning on organizing your photo albums but never find time to do so? They never make it into an album, and most are contained in original envelopes. We look at them once, and rarely ever look at them again. Preserve Your Precious Memories People today have family members and friends living far away in another state or, even in another country and are sharing their memories with them. The Internet makes it possible to wipe away long distances. The possibilities for yourself, your family and friends of sharing your photos and easily and repeatedly enjoying them, are limitless. Your memories are priceless, therefore to best enjoy these precious memories, proper care and preservation of your photographs is crucial. All photographs are susceptible to damage and will eventually deteriorate if not properly protected. Whether they are stored in a scrapbook, box or picture frame, your precious memories will begin to crack and fade with time. Photographs are also threatened by a number of natural disasters including fire and flooding. These unexpected disasters can occur at any time and have potential to completely destroy your priceless photos.
