Durable Replacement Parts for the Toyota Lexus LS430 now Available at Parts TrainWritten by Jenny McLane
The LS430 is a large, rear-drive sedan, powered by a 4.3-litre, dual overhead cam V8 pumping out 207kW of power and 417Nm of torque. Chief designer of Lexus LS430, Makoto Ooshima, told American industry journal automotive News car's design was inspired by Japanese bullet train as car was tested in same wind tunnel. The maker claims LS430 is most aerodynamic sedan in world, with a drag coefficient of 0.25. (An average family sedan is 0.32.)The 2005 Toyota Lexus LS 430 has powered door-closing system, which pulls doors tight against seals. The headlight beams swivel by 15 degrees left or right to follow road according to speed and steering input and there's a reversing camera that transmits images to a 7in screen that also displays sat-nav information. Voice recognition technology responds to about 300 commands for navigation, audio and air-conditioning, while Bluetooth technology permits cable-free use of mobile phones and like. A tyre pressure monitoring system is low-tech in comparison. The latest version of 32-valve V8 engine uses less fuel and produces less noxious emissions. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Shift Logic Control that responds to road grade and acceleration/deceleration activity. A Sequential Shift feature also allows driver to control gearshifts manually, if desired. "This car's role is to elevate Lexus to a truly world-class level,” said Jim Press, head of Toyota Motor Sales USA and it means air-cooled seats, automatic rain-sensitive windscreen wipers and parking sensors, Mark Levinson audio/navigation system with handy rear camera, voice command and Bluetooth wireless connections; air suspension; rear door sunshades; rear seat adjuster with power/slide and memory and massage; and parking assist One of high technology items built in to every LS430 is a Pre-Collision System (PCS) which can reduce collision severity and damage by use of millimeter-wave radar that detects obstacles in front of car. If system determines that a collision is imminent, it retracts driver and front passenger seatbelts. PCS also prepares Brake Assist system, which, after driver applies brakes, automatically applies increased braking force to help reduce collision speed.

"The G6 coupe and convertible are uniquely Pontiac vehicles that are great additions to family started by G6 sedan," said Jim Bunnell, Pontiac-GMC general manager. "The G6 coupe delivers outstanding performance and generous interior room, and G6 is only hardtop convertible that has room for four adults." Both G6 coupe and G6 convertible will be available in GT and GTP models. The GTPs will feature a 240 horsepower 3.9L OHV V6 coupled to a 4-speed automatic with manual shift mode or a 6-speed manual in coupe and sedan models - a package that targets driving enthusiasts. From styling to interior fit, finish and materials quality, interior room to driving dynamics, new G6 is a solid step up from old model. The coupe and convertible models have all-new body panels rearward of A-pillars. Large, wraparound tail lamps on both models create a distinct look compared to G6 sedan. LED-lit Center High Mounted Stop Lamps (CHMSLs) on coupe and convertible differ from traditional incandescent bulbs of sedan's CHMSL. The coupe's CHMSL is located at base of rear window, while convertible's is a wider lamp incorporated into decklid, creating a distinct design element.
