Don’t Wait 31,458 Days for Your Next Victory

Written by Tony Papajohn

This was a slump of monumental proportions.

On October, 27, 2004, after 87 years (31,458 days, but who’s counting?),repparttar Boston Red Sox finally wonrepparttar 129336 World Series.

And, just for effect, repparttar 129337 heavens cooperated with a total lunar eclipse.

Although I am hardlyrepparttar 129338 world’s biggest baseball fan, repparttar 129339 “Curse ofrepparttar 129340 Bambino” has always fascinated me.

This refers to Red Sox owner Harry Frazee’s 1920 sale of Babe Ruth torepparttar 129341 Yankees. Since then, repparttar 129342 Yankees have won 26 World Series titles andrepparttar 129343 Red Sox have lost all 4 appearances in 7 games.

That is, until now.

Overrepparttar 129344 years (actually, generations),repparttar 129345 “Red Sox Nation” has attributed a legion of misfortune to “The Curse.”

I’m surprised that Stephen King, a New Englander and Red Sox fan, has not turned this into one of his trademark supernatural thrillers.

On a more personal level, most of us are subject to “curses” of one kind or another. These arerepparttar 129346 collective beliefs of a group to which we belong by birth or affinity that we believe also.

Do you rememberrepparttar 129333 story of Goldilocks andrepparttar 129334 3 Bears? It's quite a simple story and as an adult only takes minutes to read. Can Goldilocks help you get ready to do anything? She sure can!

Fromrepparttar 129335 story, what most of us remember isrepparttar 129336 repeated theme of 'too hot, too cold, just right', 'too hard, too soft, just right'. How did Goldilocks actually know which was which? When I was reading this story to my little cousin, this thought sprouted in my mind - how did she know which was 'just right' for her?

The thing is... she 'just' knew. That'srepparttar 129337 message for all of us: we all 'just' know what's 'just right' for us and where our personal balance lies. It's simply just a matter of trusting ourselves. The messages may seem inconsistent, but they are always almost appropriate for where we are inrepparttar 129338 moment.
