DESTINY

Written by Irvin L. Rozier

Destiny..the future to which any person or thing is destined.

Jonah 1 verse 1 "Nowrepparttar word ofrepparttar 126728 Lord came unto Jonahrepparttar 126729 son of Amittai, saying, verse 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me."

Jonah was picked by God to go preach to Nineveh. He tried not to heedrepparttar 126730 call, and instead headed inrepparttar 126731 other direction. While onrepparttar 126732 searepparttar 126733 Lord sent a great storm and everyone onrepparttar 126734 ship were afraid for their lives, except Jonah, who was fast asleep. The shipmaster came to him and asked him to call upon his God (he recognized that Jonah was a man of God). They cast lots to find out whyrepparttar 126735 storm was so great, andrepparttar 126736 lot fell on Jonah. He then testified to these lost souls and requested that they throw him overboard. Thenrepparttar 126737 storm ceased. Thenrepparttar 126738 men ofrepparttar 126739 ship fearedrepparttar 126740 Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice untorepparttar 126741 Lord, and made vows. God used Jonah even when he was running.

God could have thrown Jonah away, and picked someone else to preach to Nineveh...but God is sovereign, and chose Jonah (this was Jonah's destiny).

The great fish swallowed Jonah and in this dire predicament, Jonah prayed unto his God. Thenrepparttar 126742 Lord spake torepparttar 126743 fish, and it vomited (spewed out) Jonah upon dry land. Then Jonah went and preached to Nineveh (his destiny). Lo and behold, an amazing thing happened...fromrepparttar 126744 King on down, every one repented, believed Jonah's message, andrepparttar 126745 Lord sparedrepparttar 126746 city.

Waiting On The Lord

Psalm 105.19 "Untilrepparttar time that his word came, repparttar 126727 word ofrepparttar 126728 LORD tried him."

Waiting forrepparttar 126729 promise to be fulfilled. Waiting during trials, testings and tribulations. Waiting when all hope seemed gone. Waiting when family and friends misunderstood. Waiting while wrongly accused. By faith, waiting for God's purpose to be done.

Adam waited for Eve. Noah waited forrepparttar 126730 waters to recede. Abraham waited for Isaac. Joseph waited for promotion as ruler in Egypt. Moses waited for his leadership position. Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego waited inrepparttar 126731 fiery furnace. Daniel waited inrepparttar 126732 lion's den. Job waited during his afflictions. Johnrepparttar 126733 Baptist waited inrepparttar 126734 desert. Paul waited in jail. Throughoutrepparttar 126735 Bible, men and women have waited for God to do as He has said.
