Back in my early marketing days, finding magic ticket to online success was my prime focus. Day after day I became engaged in journey to find internet “El Dorado”.I did find what I was looking for, nothing more than a fistful of air. The online marketing formula for success was always right in front of me or rather right inside. And yet still so many marketers are out there searching for that elusive ticket to success. Notice any successful marketer and you will find that their success is built strongly on their credibility. Yanik Silver, Marlon Sanders, Ken Evoy and many others all have credibility which precedes them. This is why they are all so successful. They focus on creating lasting materials which will work for them in long term. Many marketers including myself have made that mistake by not doing so, which can prove to be fatal to your business. In vast world of internet, credibility is hard to comeby indeed. The internet removes need for face to face meetings and dialogue, but that does not remove need for trust and dependability. How can you create credibility for your online business? You can do so by establishing materials which will be of benefit to your readers and customers. Posting free ads to classifieds and to FFA’s is not what I am talking about. These bring little or no results in long run.

As you can probably tell, I enjoy computers. I find them fascinating. My intrinsic thirst for knowledge has reached a point where I now realize that I will never know everything there is to know about them, nor understand everything I try to learn about them. Therefore, when I was approached by a client recently, to upgrade their website, I soon regretted my usual agreement to do so, assuming I could simply figure out how to implement any of their required features, if need be. These clients have an on-line estate agency, and list all their properties on their web site, complete with photographs. They wanted their site visitors to be able to search all their listings, using pre –selected parameters such as price range and location in Algarve. I have looked at many such websites and figured I could tackle job. All I needed to do was learn programming language that these type of database driven sites use. Well, I purchased book and soon realized I was in over my head. Learning this new language would have taken me months. Rather than tell my client I could not do job, I decided to outsource programming portion of design job. I network with many other computer related people in Algarve, whose services compliment mine, and have called on their specific areas of expertise many times in past. I put my programming project out to bid, so to speak, with a few programmers I know here in Algarve and a few in UK. I also put my project on a worldwide programmers bulletin board, which I have never done before, to see what kind of response I would get.
