Cold water divingWritten by Jakob Jelling
What to wear when practicing cold water diving. When practicing cold water diving, one of main and most important things to have into account is which clothes to wear in order to keep warm. Keeping warm while diving in cold water is not as easy as it might sound since you must wear proper clothes in order to be able not only to maintain your body temperature but at same time keep your agility and be able to move as you need. First of all, you should always remember that dry suit you wear has purpose of keeping you dry, not warm. Therefore, whenever you are going to practice cold water diving, you need to wear clothes with purpose of maintaining your body temperature under your dry suit; they must complement each other. There are some fabrics and materials which can work very well for thermal insulation purpose. Among these materials we can find some special microfibres such as one known as thinsulate which can be a great choice for a diver. There are many modern materials which might allow you to keep your body temperature through their thermal insulation capabilities at same time than allow you to have a great agility.

Take a Scottsdale Golf Vacation. Okay all you golfers, looking for a different kind of golf vacation, try Scottsdale! Golf in desert, crème de la crème, or even if it is expensive, it’s an experience you should have at least once before you die – probably more. You owe yourself a Scottsdale golf vacation.Lee Trevino, well known for his quips and sayings, once said of desert golf, “It’s like a voyage into unknown”. The first desert course, Desert Highlands, was designed and built by Jack Nicklaus and Scott Miller in mid 1980’s, and it was home to first “skins game”. It also was beginning of building boom of golf courses in Arizona. Taking advantage of desert terrain, approximately 350 new golf courses have been built since that time. Most golfers are looking to play a different kind of golf course when they plan their trip to Scottsdale, enough already of traditional courses that they play every weekend back home…and desert courses fill bill. The game is same, whether it’s on a tree-lined fairway or meandering along a desert fairway. The maximum allowance for turf is 90 acres, so there’ll be a lot of desert around you…plus arroyos (dry washes – hopefully), critter warnings (maybe rattlesnakes, possible roadrunners), jumping chollas (they will reach out and grab you, just brush against one and you’ll have enough cactus spines on you to last day) and of course giant Saguaros that will gobble up your ball if it goes that way. Didn’t we tell you it would be an adventure?
