Climbing Mount GoalsWritten by Sean North
Climb and Summit Mt. GoalsAre you trying to reach a goal that feels like a large mountain to climb? Climbing a mountain is much easier than one would think. You start at bottom, you progress towards base camp, you hit middle of mountain, and then you reach summit. As climbers ascend, they come into contact with different elements such as thinner air and colder temperatures. If they climb mountain too quickly, they will not be used to new environment, and they will be out of their comfort zone. The same principle holds true for those of you who are climbing your own mountains, and striving for goals. As you climb higher to reach your goals, you will experience a different feeling. You may feel anxious, like mountaineer feels at bottom of mountain, knowing that his journey has only begun. You may feel overwhelmed like mountaineer who is at base camp, knowing that he has many steps to climb. You may feel excited, like mountaineer who has just hit middle of mountain, knowing that peak is within reach. You may feel proud of yourself, like mountaineer who has reached summit, knowing that he obtained his goal. So, How Can You Climb The Mountain To Your Goals? 1. Start at bottom - establish what your goals are. * Write down your goals. * Avoid generalizations such as I want to be happy or I want to be rich. WHAT would make you happy or WHAT would make you rich? * If you want to be happy, write down how you will accomplish this. Will you take up a new hobby? Will you go back to school? Will you spend more time with friends or family? The more specific you can be, better your chances of achieving your goal. * If you want to make more money, list details such as wanting to increase your income by 10% next year.

How to grow your mental power and let your brain make your rich. ********************************************************************************* By Fernando Soave Copyright © 2003No one has complete control over their thoughts. But with practice, with deliberate attention, far more control can be achieved. Here are five rules that show you how. 1.Practice thinking to develop mental thrust. Thinking is work. To develop your thinking process you must put mind through exercises which lead it down new paths. 2.Add width to your thinking. Narrow minded people have these characteristics. All negative. a.They see only a small part of problems. b.They are exceptionally prejudiced. They can hate intensely. c.They are intellectually blind. They learn no wisdom as they mature. To think wide remember : a.Be careful of generalising with “all white and black” approach. b.Avoid sentences like, “He’s no good”, “I hate”, “They are stupid”. c.Think two sides before you make your point. Nothing is all good and nothing is all bad. d.Don’t be to fast with your opinions. 3.Think like a crew member not like a passenger. Assume your responsibility for what happens. 4.Listen and trade minds with people you want to influence. Remember, it isn’t how much you talk. It’s how much you listen that determines if your brain will develop understanding and power to convince other people.
