General Appearance: Alert, tiny, defiant and graceful. Colour: Any colour or mixture of colours. Coat: Smooth coat - Smooth, close and glossy. Long coat - Flat or slightly wavy with feathering on ears, tail, neck and feet. Tail: Long, set high, curved over back and tapering. Ears: Large, well seperated, carried erect when in motion and set at a 45-degree angle when at rest. Body: Short, level back, well sprung ribs and shoulders well laid back.
Temperament: Highly intelligent, alert, swift and fearless. These small dogs are obedient and easily trained. They can be aggressive towards other dogs and do not appreciate humans who invade their homes without permission. Families with young children need to supervise interaction between child and dog, due to it's small size. They are ideal companions for elderly and despite their tiny size Chihuahuas have a tremendous spirit and are far from delicate.

General Appearance: Solid, laid-back and gentle. Colour: Any shade of gold or cream. Coat: The outercoat is flat or wavy, waterproof with feathering. The undercoat is dense. Tail: Thick, well-feathered and never carried over back. Ears: Medium size, set high and hanging close to cheek. Body: The ribs are deep and well-sprung. The topline is level with a strong, muscular loin. The shoulders are long, wide and well laid back.
Temperament: Gentle, intelligent, kind and loyal. Golden Retrievers are popular family dogs with their affectionate and caring nature. Unlike many other breeds they do not demand continuous attention from their family or handler. They are friendly with children, strangers and other dogs. They are easily trained and obedient. Grooming: These dogs can be trimmed occasionally for a well-groomed appearance and they need regular brushing and combing. The excess hair between pads of feet also needs to be trimmed and ears checked for dirt or wax build-up.
