Can We Handle the Truth?Written by Gary Revel
Most people in America are busy with details of achieving their goals and making their own place in world. They have little time for themselves and don't want to spend it on some lost cause that most people don't care about. So it is with injustice of assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Even though most don't believe James Earl Ray killed Martin Luther King Jr. or at least not by him-self, they also don't have time to try to figure it out. Some would say they just don't care; so what's use of making a movie of story of my investigation of Martin Luther King Jr's assassination? What good will it do to have a full-length feature movie presented throughout nations theaters that explores this matter when nobody has time to care about it in today's environment? This is a question that I have asked myself for years; and continue to ask. Many believe very strongly that story needs to be told and it needs to be told in just such a motion picture. Some believe that it is a story that has historical importance and is best served by being written in conjunction with a treatment of civil rights movement and presented in a non-fiction literary work. Still others tell me that it should be a TV movie done in tight commercial presentation that is best suited for today's contemporary television audience. Some would like to see it as a documentary or docu-drama. There are also those that just don't care about anything related to assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. and would rather everyone just quit talking about it.
| | Great Games You've Never PlayedWritten by Chris Campbell
Do you know what you're missing? Some of best computer games ever made are likely games you've never heard of. Created by people and companies working in relative obscurity. They don't have million dollar budgets, some don't even have thousand dollar budgets. They don't have dedicated marketing departments, research analysts, sales teams, fancy offices, and cutting edge tools. They scrape together whatever tools they can, often discarded by ultra rich game designers from their big shiny studios.Making Miracles. In spite of these deplorable working conditions, they create some of most amazing games today. How do these game gems get created, and who are miracle workers creating them. They're independent game designers. Sometimes called Indies for short. Working out of their bedrooms, garages, spare offices, and basements. They have a passion for what they do. They love games, they love act of creation, and are relentlessly committed to their vision of what a game should be. They often build games they themselves would love to play. Simply because no one else will. These kind of games, you won't find at some big box electronics store casting it's shadow over your end of town. These brave Indies could care less what marketing boys up on 26th floor have to say about latest game trends. Probably because their garages don't have 26 floors. They just know their love of games, and how much they love to play. Where do Indies come from? Indie game developers come from all different areas. They're often former artists, programmers, or designers of some big name software companies. Maybe that quiet little programmer in that tiny corner cubicle dreams of being an Indie one day. Tired of corporate rat race, and looking to express themselves creatively they become Indies. Some of been lucky enough to avoid corporate avenue altogether and make a living doing what they love from beginning. Regardless of their origins, they all have passion and desire to create. To be able to put their name on something really great. They want to be recognized for their abilities and worth. But, more than that they want you to play their games, and have fun doing so.
