Can Smoking harm My Skin?

Written by Wendy Owen

Skin is fed from within. The foods we eat are broken down into nutrients and waste. The nutrients are absorbed byrepparttar bloodstream which transports them aroundrepparttar 114771 body torepparttar 114772 various organs, repparttar 114773 largest of which isrepparttar 114774 skin. Oxygen is also transported and delivered inrepparttar 114775 same way. The cells absorbrepparttar 114776 oxygen and this is vital forrepparttar 114777 health ofrepparttar 114778 organs andrepparttar 114779 life process itself. This whole process takes place automatically when we breathe........

Except when we are breathing in smoke!

When we inhalerepparttar 114780 smoke from a cigaretterepparttar 114781 carbon monoxide fromrepparttar 114782 smoke is absorbed byrepparttar 114783 hemoglobin inrepparttar 114784 blood. Carbon monoxide is a colorless odorless highly toxic gas also found inrepparttar 114785 smoke from car exhausts. The blood can absorb carbon monoxide 200 times as fast as oxygen so a lot ofrepparttar 114786 oxygen is displaced by carbon monoxide. The organs includingrepparttar 114787 skin are starved of life giving oxygen and slowly poisoned byrepparttar 114788 carbon monoxide.

But that's notrepparttar 114789 end of it. Cigarette smoke also containsrepparttar 114790 following deadly cocktails of chemicals. Ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, butane, nicotine, carbolic acid, collidine, formic aldehyde, lutidine, parvoline, prussic acid, pyridine, arsenic and cadmium. This list is by no means complete.

Snoring- a small change can make a big difference

Written by Kevin Meates

We all know how annoying snoring can be, both forrepparttar snorer andrepparttar 114770 partner. The effects and seriousness of snoring are becoming more apparent with snoring being linked to conditions like high blood pressure and coronary disease. The different types of snoring, range from a simple puff to a full on roar and there isn’t one school of thought onrepparttar 114771 reasons behind snoring. Snoring, I believe, is a signal thatrepparttar 114772 body’s systems are out of balance. Finding which system isrepparttar 114773 difficult part. But correctingrepparttar 114774 balance may not take a huge change, takerepparttar 114775 example of Andy.

Andy was in his late 30s and had snored for several years. He’s not quite sure when it started but of laterepparttar 114776 snoring had being a more regular event. He probably still wouldn’t be aware of it, except it drove his wife crazy. Andy had always being active, not a football star but he liked to throw a ball around. If you asked a passerby, they wouldn’t describe Andy as overweight but Andy freely admits putting on a pound a year overrepparttar 114777 past 10 years and plans to start shedding some of it sometime soon.

Every year Andy andrepparttar 114778 family, his wife and two sons go camping. They always go torepparttar 114779 same camping ground every year and always getrepparttar 114780 same site, or there about, nearrepparttar 114781 water and away fromrepparttar 114782 highway. Andy doesn’t believe a holiday should be hard work andrepparttar 114783 family doesn’t lack for comfort with inflatable mattresses, electric cooler, color TV (just forrepparttar 114784 news) and a large three room tent. Now last yearrepparttar 114785 shower block at Andy’s end ofrepparttar 114786 camp ground was under going a major renovation forrepparttar 114787 two weeks of Andy’s holiday. It wasn’t a major problem; it just meant that Andy had his nightly shower atrepparttar 114788 other shower block. But because Andy and his wife preferred thatrepparttar 114789 boys didn’t have to walk inrepparttar 114790 dark they showered a couple hours earlier than normal.

After a couple of days after arriving Andy’s wife Karen noted that Andy wasn’t snoring nearly as badly as he normally did. On past holidays evenrepparttar 114791 boys would mention how annoying dad’s snoring was. They too had noticed a more quiet night. Andy was pleased as he too had noticed that he awoke more refreshed inrepparttar 114792 morning and his mouth didn’t feel like someone had left sandpaper in it. He didn’t know what change he had made that brought this unexpected and pleasant result, but he suspected it had to do with his nightly routine, as this wasrepparttar 114793 only thing that had changed.
