Breathing

Written by Robert Morgen

Breath in through your nose and draw your breath down intorepparttar area just below your navel, allowing your stomach to expand as you breath (Baby Breath) and filling your lungs entirely with each breath before exhaling through your nose. Breathing isrepparttar 138569 MOST important part of meditation and Kundalini Awakening. From our birth until death we breathe more or less continually, yet forrepparttar 138570 most part we do it without any awareness of our breath and its effects on us, and believe it or not most people inrepparttar 138571 western world do it wrong! Take a moment right now and feel your breath. Pay attention torepparttar 138572 air as it flows in through your nostrils and down into your lungs. Don’t think about anything or do anything other than just breathe. 1. Are you taking a relatively shallow breath and just fillingrepparttar 138573 upper lobes of your lungs? 2. Does your stomach move out as you breathe? 3. Do you feelrepparttar 138574 bones of your ribcage expanding and opening with each breath? For most peoplerepparttar 138575 answer to 1 is YES andrepparttar 138576 answers to 2 and 3 are NO so lets expand this exercise a bit. Take a moment right now and feel your breath. Pay attention torepparttar 138577 air as it flows in through your nostrils and down into your lungs. Don’t think about anything or do anything other than just breathe. Draw your breath down to a point about 2 inches below your navel (the body’s center of gravity). When you do this you’ll feel your stomach expand and push out in front of you. Most westerners usually keep their stomach pulled in and their chest out, so if you do this you’ll have to relax all that. Just take a moment and be aware of your breath as it flows down into your center. Now as you inhale and draw your breath down, also let your ribcage expand. You’ll feel your floating ribs atrepparttar 138578 bottom of your ribcage spread and move, and you may get a few pops out of your spine also. Now just take a few moments and breathe this way. Don’t think or let your mind wander, just breathe.

Complete Self Acceptance

Written by Robert Morgen

One ofrepparttar most important parts of Personal Mastery is ‘Self Acceptance’. This is much more thanrepparttar 138568 usual ‘self esteem’ issues that we hear about, although that’s a part of it.

Self Acceptance is about accepting yourself completely, exactly as you are RIGHT NOW. For most of us this isn’t as easy as it should be. We’ve been taught that we have to achieve certain things or be certain things, and that we shouldn’t feel satisfied with who we are until we’ve done so. In reality we’re NEVER finished as there will hopefully always be more to learn and new ways to grow. So when, exactly, are we supposed to feel good about ourselves?

Popular culture would have you believe that all you need to feel good about yourself isrepparttar 138569 right car, orrepparttar 138570 right clothes, orrepparttar 138571 right beer. In fact many of our culture’s self-esteem problems are intentionally created byrepparttar 138572 media andrepparttar 138573 businesses that advertise there. How often have you seen an ad and thought “I really need to update my style”, or “I really need a new car”? Do you really? Hey, maybe sometimes we do. I have to admit that my habit of wearing sweatpants, t-shirts and sandals wouldn’t go over well when making advertising sales calls forrepparttar 138574 videos or magazine, and I do in fact, really need a good car. As usualrepparttar 138575 question in our society is ‘how much do we really need’? For instance, I don’t need Armani suits to sell advertising for a holistic magazine, and I can get by very well with a reliable older car. The difference here isrepparttar 138576 word ‘need’ versusrepparttar 138577 word ‘want’. We’re taught that we ‘need’ certain things to feel good about ourselves, and that’srepparttar 138578 key issue. I don’t care if you buy a new Mercedes 3 times a week if that’s what you want to do and you can afford it. However, if you feel like you ‘need’ to buy or do anything in order to feel good about yourself then that’s an issue that needs to be addressed.

Self Acceptance is about FREEDOM. It’srepparttar 138579 freedom to be happy with who you are and not be a slave torepparttar 138580 ‘needs’ that we’re taught to believe in. It’srepparttar 138581 freedom to look at yourself inrepparttar 138582 mirror and love and acceptrepparttar 138583 person you see looking back andrepparttar 138584 freedom to be happy to be in your own skin. True self acceptance is one ofrepparttar 138585 transformational moments in our lives. It doesn’t mean that there aren’t things you’d like to change, or have new directions you’d like to grow. It simply means that you’ve accepted yourself, with all your warts and ugly spots, and now you can start moving inrepparttar 138586 positive directions needed for your life.
