Bose Wave Radio Written by Ratliff J
You may know Bose from all radio ads. I listened for years before I finally decided to buy Bose Wave Radio / CD. I have to admit I was skeptical of spending $499 for a stereo system. I eventually had oppurtunity to listen to one at a friend's house. I was amazed at sound this little box created. Well, I bought one, and I am glad to say it is well worth purchase. Bose now also offers financing, so that makes buying one even easier. They offer a money back guarantee, so you really have nothing to lose.
| | HD-DVD vs Blu-ray: A PrimerWritten by Kenny Hemphill
High Definition DVD (HD-DVD) vs Blu-ray is shaping up to be a battle to rival VHS vs Betamax format war of early eighties. Looking like they've learned nothing from DVD +/- RW debacle, companies involved, whether they are in technology or content distribution industry (or in Sony's case, both), are set to slug it out over next few years. The prize is licence fees that will be payable to format owners when next generation of high definition DVD players and recorders start shipping in volume. As high definition television becomes increasingly popular, consumers will want a recordable format that has capacity to hold at least a couple of hours worth of HDTV content. Both Blu-ray and HD-DVD were developed in response to anticipated need for an HDTV recording medium and provide content whose quality would match expectations of HDTV-owning customers. Additionally, film distribution companies will cash-in as they release all titles currently available on DVD in one or both of new formats and convince consumers that they really should chuck out DVD collection they've spent time and money building and start afresh with new high definition versions.
