Book Review of The One Minute MillionaireWritten by John Q. Miller
The One Minute Millionaire combines a novel and textbook about philosophy of enlightened millionaire. The book is unusually designed to coach you in reaching financial freedom. The left-hand pages of book contain steps for commitment and action using real estate, investments, business, and Internet. The right-hand pages are inspirational story of a recently widowed young woman who must raise a million dollars to rescue her children. This is an excellent collaboration between Mark Hansen, author Chicken Soup for Soul book series; and Robert Allen, author of Nothing Down, Creating Wealth, and Multiple Streams of Income. The pages compliment each other by helping you learn a system for creating wealth that benefits others (as authors point out, “like a hammer, money can be used to build or destroy”). The authors use positive affirmations called Millionaire Manifestations. These affirmations help you form a strong commitment and prevent hysteresis (a scientific term that characterizes tendency of materials to snap back to their original shape once pressure is removed).

Miller Many authors with financial success and expertise have lead me to conclude that to achieve financial freedom, you must cultivate sources of income other than working for someone earning wages. Most people, however, cannot abandon their “day job” and risk starting their own business. Robert Allen has a different message. Keep job, your primary income stream, but also take action to develop other sources of income. Your multiple streams of income could bring additional cash flow and greater financial freedom. One of your income seeds could sprout and grow to be so successful that it becomes your primary income stream. By trying various and multiple methods to generate additional income, you increase your odds of success with an overall approach that poses less risk. In this book filled with information about making and managing money, Robert Allen provides detailed instruction for creating “multiple streams of income.” He includes lists, tables, charts, and web links to illustrate ideas. [the “50 Ways to Save $50 a Month,” list in Chapter 2, is alone worth purchase price of book.]
