Becoming A Certified ReflexologistWritten by D. Braun
Reflexology is something I've used and loved since I was 8 years old. I began learning about Reflexology when my aunt bought me a book by Mildred Carter - whom I consider to be mother of American Reflexology. Eunice Ingham is woman who took zone therapy even further - mapping reflex points in feet and building first Reflexology educational institution. She is, without a doubt, mother of Reflexology. However, Mildred Carter brought this healing method to people here in United States. Her straight-forward, no-nonsense, easy to understand books (Body Reflexology, Hand Reflexology and Foot Reflexology) gave everyone, from doctors to mechanics and housewives, a viable, effective way to enhance health of themselves and their families. Carter, now 93 years of age, is still going strong and practicing what she has preached for decades - Reflexology works. I received my first certification in Reflexology from a very solid school in UK. Then, through coincidence (or synchronicity!), I came in contact with Dr. Zachary Brinkerhoff of Modern Institute of Reflexology in Denver, CO.
| | Different Hair Transplant MethodsWritten by Karen Brown
When dealing with issue of losing hair, in some cases, individuals choose to use hair transplants as a treatment. A hair transplant basically means to take hair from one area of head with hair and root it into another area of head without hair. Then, hair roots itself and begins to grow. In order to accomplish this task, there are different hair transplant methods to use. Below are hair transplant methods and details surrounding them. First, one of hair transplant methods is called strip method, of Follicular Unit Transplant. This method is generally most popular type of hair transplant, partly due to fact that it is usually least expensive method. How this particular method works is a piece of skin is removed from donor area of head (the area that has hair). Then, donor area is sutured closed. After this, strip is divided into follicular units, which are individual hair groupings. In bald area, hundreds to thousands of small slits are cut and individual hair groupings are placed in them. Where hair was implanted, there is a short-term rash. After a short period of time, sutures are removed and scalp is examined. Within about three to four months, hair transplants should begin growing. This hair transplant method is usually fully done after a year, when individuals may have normal hair cuts and be able to stop using vitamin supplements, volumizing shampoos, and other such hair loss products.
