Be The One With Something Interesting To SayWritten by Steve Gillman
How Do You Learn Something New? If you could learn fast and effectively, you might become person with something interesting to say on any topic. It also can help you in your carreer or business. You can learn more efficiently. Just use a few of following techniques, and use them until they become habit. First, when you want to learn new material, expose your mind to it as soon as possible, even before you feel "ready," or have time to study. This first stage of learning is confusing part where you look at new ideas and say, "huh?" If you do this quickly, however, reviewing everything for a few minutes, your unconscious mind will start "incubating" new concepts, and finding some way to organize them. The next time you sit down with new material, begin to relate it to what you already know. Compare and contrast things. Say to yourself, "That's like...," or "How is that different from..." The concept of autoresponder was new to me when I started my newsletter, but it really sunk in and motivated me when I thought, "It's like someone doing all my addressing and mailing for pennies a day." This prompted all important questions, and I was ready to learn about it. Create Curiosity and AnticipationYou probably agree that you can learn more effectively with curiosity and anticipation working for you. So how do you create this state of mind? One way is to leave each learning session with a question or two clearly in your mind. This creates sense of anticipation and curiosity that will help you next time you approach material. It's like a television show cutting to a commercial at an interesting moment in program. You want to stay tuned, to see what will happen next. Use Your ImaginationWant to totally change your perspective to make learning more effective? Study with idea in mind that you will be teaching what you're learning. As you learn something, imagine how you will teach it. This is a powerful way to get a good grasp on new information.
| | Is this sensible?Written by Debbie O'Meara
In his book "Prosperity," Charles Fillmore writes:--The sensing mind is filled with lacks and limitations; spiritual mind knows only limitless abundance. When I read this sentence, word that struck me was “sensing.” I had to think about why that word caught my attention so sharply. Was it because we don’t often use phrase “sensing mind”? No, that didn’t seem to be reason. Then it dawned on me. “Sensing” sounded a lot like “sensible”! It’s not just our “sensing,” physical-world minds, but our “sensible” minds that are filled with lacks and limitations! Did anyone ever tell you to “be reasonable”? What did that mean? It meant “don’t expect too much.” Or “don’t reach so high.” Or “don’t be such a dreamer.” But haven’t you noticed that truly great things happen when we’re unreasonable? Our senses limit us to what they perceive. What we can’t hear, touch, feel, see, taste, we don’t comprehend; it doesn’t seem “sensible” to us. But that limits us, our aspirations, our lives, to what we know. If we want to reach higher, we have to access part of ourselves that goes beyond sensible. Our experiences are so limited compared to vastness of universe, and Universal Mind. It’s almost arrogant to believe that we are capable of defining what’s possible. And it’s certainly counter-productive for most of us. It will only be when we let go of those sensible, reasonable boundaries that we allow to define us and our potential that we can become what we’re intended to become, live way we’re intended to live.
