Aiming At The Home Based Business BullseyeWritten by Kirk Bannerman
Traffic is one thing, but targeted traffic is everything.
You have no doubt seen dozens of offers similar to "10,000 hits per hour driven to your website!". This type of website traffic is completely untargeted and will undoubtedly result in a very low conversion ratio. It's basically "throw it up against wall and hope something sticks". The big incoming numbers give illusion of progress, but you will achieve better results with a lower volume of highly targeted traffic.
I speak from experience because in early days of developing my home business, I went for big numbers instead of focusing on targeting prospects. It took me a while to appreciate importance of targeting (quality) instead of just going for big numbers, but it was a lesson well learned.
Exchanging links has been an important part of generating website traffic for quite some time, but vast majority of people looking to trade links don't understand that just wildly swapping links with any willing webmaster is not way to go.
For last few years, most webmasters have been in a "pleasing Google" mode since Google had such a dominant position. Now that challengers are emerging, most notably Yahoo, MSN, and Ask Jeeves, search engine ranking landscape is becoming much more complicated than just marching to tune Google played.
Many website owners seem to be of opinion that sole purpose of exchanging links is to try to improve search engine ranking position of their website. While it is true that links pointing to your website can help your search engine ranking, reason for obtaining inbound links goes far deeper than that.
How Big a List do You Want?Written by Natalie White
Well, what can I say about size of an Internet marketer's list?
From my point of view, size of your list is somewhat relevant (I said somewhat)... Nobody can say, "You need X amount of subscribers to be successful." It doesn't work like that. What you need, is a list of RESPONSIVE subscribers. You may have a list of 10,000 people with a conversion rate of 0.2% (20 people will buy), or you may have one of 1,000 with a 2% rate.
Don't get me wrong here... of course you want to keep on building your list... I didn't stop at X number and said "That's enough" (Who in their right mind would!!!). Of course, bigger better, but what I'm saying is you don't need to have 10,000 subscribers to make money online.

There is a great book just published about How to build your Opt-In List. I've read tons of book, and this one is by far best one I've read yet. It is FR.EE for download here: http://www.markmadeez.com/TheOptInStrategy.pdf
What you need is a good conversion rate, and to get that conversion rate, you need to cultivate your list. When I say cultivate, I mean develop a credible and trusting relationship with your subscribers. Get them to trust you by delivering useful content and information throughout your mailings, good products, and good programs. Don't use your list for blasting Solo Ads after Solo Ads! You will see your subscribers fall like flies... your unsubscribe rate will go through roof so fast, it'll make your head spin!!!. This is not what you want, right? You want people to read you, you want people to write to you, you want people to come to trust you, and then to buy from you.
