Advance Your Enthusiasm and Determination for Success

(C) 2004 by Steve Brunkhorst http://AchieveEzine.com

Imagine being firmly committed to your deepest ambitions. Imagine feeling energetic and enthusiastic about your relationships, career, and allrepparttar 123065 things you want. Envision a future as bright and promising as any you have ever imagined.

Is this your typical day-to-day outlook? Do you adjust easily to unexpected obstacles and handle stressful situations resiliently? Do you thrive on challenges, or do you tend to withdraw from them?

Henry Ford said, "You can do anything if you have enthusiasm. Enthusiasm isrepparttar 123066 yeast that makes your hopes rise torepparttar 123067 stars. Enthusiasm isrepparttar 123068 spark in your eye, repparttar 123069 swing in your gait, repparttar 123070 grip of your hand, repparttar 123071 irresistible surge of your will and your energy to execute your ideas."

Enthusiastic people are inspired by great ideas. However, they live and thrive on action.

Does that mean they are immune to fear and self-doubt? Are they spared from feelings of uneasiness that so often accompany moving into new territories? No, they are not.

They dissolve fear by doing what they fear. They meet and resolve conflicts. They see today's adversities as universities filled with valuable lessons. They create new maps that lead them forward.

Determined people are risk takers. However, they take sensible precautions and make informed decisions. Their invitation to wisdom and creativity becomes more compelling than self-limiting doubt.

Determined people are committed torepparttar 123072 purpose for which they live. Commitment turns a promise into reality with words that speak boldly of your intentions and actions that speak louder than words.

What do you do when you wake up inrepparttar middle ofrepparttar 123064 night and cannot go back to sleep? Do you lie there tossing, stretch, panic, and feel your heart thumping? Do you notice your own shallow breathing? Do you try futilely to followrepparttar 123065 random speeding thoughts that race through your mind?

Back in 1991 I met an elderly man inrepparttar 123066 grocery store. He must have been around 87. Approaching my cart, he leaned in and said “young lady would you like to know how to get to be my age?” To which I answered “sure”. He then went on to explain that since he had been my age and out on his own, never once did he ever spend a sleepless night in bed. If he should have trouble dosing off, or worse—wake inrepparttar 123067 middle ofrepparttar 123068 night, he simply & promptly got up out of bed and got busy about living.

At 22 I was not inrepparttar 123069 habit of having trouble falling asleep. No—in fact my trouble was choosing to go to sleep when there was always so much fun to get into. Now at 35, I fully appreciaterepparttar 123070 words this man offered to me. In my case, rarely is a sleepless night caused randomly. However, nights like that have occurred to me as well.

Here are some suggestions of things to do —should sleep evade you. 1) Have a cup of herbal tea and read a relaxing book to start your day… or before trying sleep again. 2) Have a cup of coffee and read some motivational literature to jump start your morning. 3) Put on music, or a spoken word tape / CD if necessary to shut offrepparttar 123071 chatter in your mind. 4) Take care of any physical symptoms that are bothering you—headache, upset stomach, heart burn. 5) Take action on any issue on your mind- --- you can write out an action plan forrepparttar 123072 next few months, weeks, days, hours ahead (break it down into manageable chunks) this will help you to feel like you have control by having a plan and thereby not giving up on yourself andrepparttar 123073 issue. --- you can organize any materials that might pertain to that area of life. --- read information onrepparttar 123074 topic—becoming informed sometimes has a calming affect. --- put in any direct effort to moverepparttar 123075 situation along possible. Biterepparttar 123076 bullet so to speak—takerepparttar 123077 action you have been delaying. 6) Do something else productive aroundrepparttar 123078 house. Find something you can do without bothering others that will free up your day time later. If you get stuff out ofrepparttar 123079 way at night—you can spendrepparttar 123080 daytime addressing any issue that has your sleep disturbed.
