Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet By Tasos Vasilopoulos Part 3 - Choose theme of your website – Choose domain name of your website. Introduction This article makes part of a series of 20 articles. The subject of this series is creation and promotion of a website as a cost-effective method to establish a profitable home based business on Internet. In my previous article, “Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet – Part 2 – Search Engines Explained”, I have analyzed several important issues regarding Search Engines and their impact in our business. In this article I will explain to you what to take in consideration when time comes to choose a theme and a domain name for your website. Time for decisions – Choose theme of your website ”How will I choose theme of my web pages?” will be one of questions in your mind. The most popular a keyword is, harder competition. But, they are also keywords less popular, which still get many visitors, enough to help you build your group of co-workers. I have recruited many of my co-workers using keyword “earn money online”. It is getting less than 5,000 visitors every month, but I was getting many visitors from all Search Engines by being listed among first three positions. It is a less popular keyword. For this reason competition is not so hard and I find it easier to keep my good position. This way I still get many well-targeted visitors. A good percentage of them become my co-workers. From this keyword I recruited two of my personal Group Leaders. I would suggest that you choose a less popular keyword to start with. Something like “work at home business opportunity”. Or “Home based business opportunity”. This way, following my instructions, you will make it to appear in first positions of listings for these keywords in a few months of work. And you will start receiving a good number of visitors. Then, month-by-month, if you keep working hard, your web page will start appearing in listings for stronger themes, “work at home business”, “work at home” and “home based business”. I suggest you use Overture’s term suggestion tool at http://www.overture.com to examine popularity of each keyword. To reach this tool click on “Advertiser Center” at right top part of home page and then click on “Search Term Suggestion Tool” option, found under section “Tools”. A new window will open. Insert on “Get suggestions for:” box keyword “work at home opportunity”. You will see how many times this keyword was searched last month (its popularity), but not only this. You will also see popularity of relative minor keywords. Minor keywords are those who contain a major keyword, like “work at home opportunity”. Then you can select some of these keywords and search for these keywords in Google, in order to measure competition. This way you can pick a keyword that has not much popularity and for this reason also has less competition. You can make it to appear in first positions of listings of Search Engines for this keyword soon. In our example a good keyword to start is “work at home business opportunity”. You can use this as theme of your website. This way you can also head to major keyword “work at home business” and if you become really good, you can go for a good position for much more difficult “work at home”. Also, you can use freeware tool offered at http://www.goodkeywords.com to determine best keywords, those with good popularity and lower competition. Have in mind that your major keyword must be one of “work at home”, ”home business” or “home based business”. Time for decisions – Choose domain name of your website I will assume that you have decided to use “work at home business opportunity” as your keyword. Now you need to find proper domain name for your website and register it. The ideal domain name would have been www.work-at-home-business-opportunity.com. As you can see this domain name includes keyword. It consists of words in your keyword, separated by dashes. So, when human see your domain name, they can easily understand what it is about. Also some Search Engines will increase relevance of your website for your keyword, since keyword exists even in domain name of your website! To register this domain name you have to go to website of a domain name registrar. This is how these companies are called, registrars. But not all companies are convenient to use. Some of them are expensive. Some others do not offer help in choosing your domain name. What do I mean by “offering help in choosing your domain name”? Well, probably someone else has already registered domain name www.work-at-home-business-opportunity.com. This is natural. Another entrepreneur decided to use it. Most of good, small domain names are already registered. And for this reason a registrar that can help you choose right available domain name effectively is important. I use Godaddy (http://www.godaddy.com) to register my domain names. It is cheap and offers to me options to find a good domain name, in case domain name I want is already taken. To register a domain name for a year costs $6 to $15. The variation of cost has to do with extension of domain name. A “.com” extension costs $9, while a “.ws” extension costs $10.

Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet By Tasos Vasilopoulos Part 12 - Time to work – Start building your link popularity – Your tools Introduction This article makes part of a series of 20 articles. The subject of this series is creation and promotion of a website as a cost-effective method to establish a profitable home based business on Internet. In my previous article, “Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet – Part 11 – Submit your website to Search Engines and Directories”, I have indicated to you what to do and what to avoid while submitting your website to Search Engines and Directories. In this article I will present you tools that you will have to use while building your link popularity. Your tools In your job of building your link popularity (LP) you will need tools to help you distinguish right web pages to exchange links with and also measure results of your work. 1. Google’s toolbar It is a toolbar that contains a number of useful tools. Among them are two that are essential for your work. The “Pagerank Indicator” and “Backward Links”. The indicator shows Pagerank (PR) of page you are browsing and backward links is a list of incoming links of this page that have a Pagerank equal to 4 or better. You will have to download this toolbar from http:/ oolbar.google.com and install it its full capabilities. Google makes a note that, for advanced capabilities to be activated, toolbar will be sending info about pages you are browsing to Google’s servers. It really does that, but, if you want toolbar to show you PR of a page, then it must send to Google’s servers URL of this page in order to receive and present its PR to you. This toolbar will appear in your browser’s windows, under your other toolbars. You can spot it just below address box. In middle of toolbar resides green bar indicating Pagerank of currently viewed web page. If you place your mouse in bar number of PR appears. In image below I have opened menu at right of green Pagerank bar to show you “Backward Links” selection that will present you all important incoming links. These “backward” links have PR equal or greater to 4. Every month Google sends its spider to make a deep “crawl” of websites on Internet. It gathers all web pages found (more than 3 billion currently – September 2003). Then it uses its algorithm to calculate Pagerank of each one. Same work is done also by other major Search Engines, maybe not monthly, but many times in year.
