The subject of this series is creation and promotion of a website as a cost-effective method to establish a profitable home based business on Internet. In my previous article, “Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet – Part 12 – Start building your link popularity – Your tools”, I have presented and analyzed tools that you will have to use while building your link popularity. In this article I will present you method to find right websites to exchange links with. Search for right partners Here start second phase of your work. You begin to build your link popularity. Let us assume that theme of your website is “home based business” and keyword of your home page is “home based business opportunity”. The best way to start is to go to Google’s Search Box and insert your keyword, “home based business opportunity”. Google will present you with its listing. Each page of listing contains 10 results, 10 web pages. You will go to page No 10 and will start from last website listed in it. You will visit this website, take a note of its URL, its Pagerank and its theme and you will examine if there is a page regarding exchanging links. If there is such a page, you will search for reciprocal links procedure this website utilizes, if any. Then you will open your web page where you place links about “home based business opportunities” or “home based business resources” and you will insert a link to homepage of this website. You will use URL, description and linking text that its webmaster indicates in his relative page. You will save changes to your web page and upload it to your website on Internet. Then you will communicate with this webmaster using procedure he indicates (by email or by form). If he incorporates a form for you to insert linking information of your home page, then you will use this form and insert there URL of your home page, title (linking text) and description of it. If he desires to receive an email from you, then you will send an email with your name, domain name of your website and phrase “Reciprocal Link Exchange Request” as its subject. Maybe he is promoting his website otherwise, by purchasing links for example. Or he may have other websites that link to this website, but these links are not reciprocated. In that case, observe if he has links in his home page under a section named “partners” or “link partners” or “cooperators”. Then, visit one of these websites listed in this section and observe if it also has a section of this kind in its home page. Then probably this webmaster exchanges only “front page reciprocal links”, an advanced method of link exchange that we will discuss in next article. You may need half an hour or even more to find out how to request a reciprocal link, set it up in your pages and send email. Prepare to receive answers from half of websites you requested a link exchange. You will send them same email one week after and then another one after another week. If they do not answer, you will communicate with them after a month. Be patient, be persistent. They will answer. Remember always to be polite. Many webmasters are not professionals and make changes to their websites once a week or even every 15 days. Other webmasters receive many link exchange requests and need time to respond. Have patience. Keep a note about status of each exchange request and move on. The subject of this series is creation and promotion of a website as a cost-effective method to establish a profitable home based business on Internet. In my previous article, “Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet – Part 16 – Time to analyze - Measure your progress”, I have presented you three solutions, free and low-cost, to measure results of your work. In this article I will talk to you about your first visitors. You have to be prepared for them. Your first visitors - Where do they come from? Even from first days of beginning of your link exchange campaign, you will start receiving visitors. They will be coming to your website from reciprocal links in web pages of your link partners. Also, if you have placed paid links in websites of similar theme, more visitors will be coming from there also. Later, when your website will be indexed and will start appearing in listings of Search Engines, this number of visitors will be increasing every month (assuming that you keep working with your link popularity). Who are they? They are people in search of your theme or a similar one (work at home jobs, home based business opportunities etc). If your link popularity is focused to websites of same or similar theme, then most of these people, either they come from other websites that link to yours or they come from search engines, they will be interested in what you have to offer to them. Most of them are browsing your web pages for first time. But, if you offer useful content and you add new or refresh it regularly, you will start receiving recurrent visitors. Many of them will become your clients. We will see later in this series of articles ways to bring your visitors back or profit something out of their visit to your website, even if they do not become your customers or they do not join your Network Marketing group (this profit can be their email address, subscription to your newsletter etc). The “conversion rate” Depending on quality of presentation of your offer in your home page, some of them will decide to become your customers, to “buy” product that you advertise in your home page. In our business product is opportunity to create and promote a successful home based business on Internet. Also, Network Marketing company that you make part of has products and services that you may advertise in your web pages. There will be visitors who will decide to purchase a product or service from your company. If you make it to refer to your company 1 out of 10 visitors, then you must be very content - 10% is a very good conversion rate. Your first affiliates Why did they choose you as there referrer? There are big chances that some of your visitors, who will decide to join your Network Marketing company as your affiliates, will not even read all context of your home page. Especially if opportunity you are offering is free to join. But many others also, especially people who was involved in a Network Marketing opportunity online or offline previously, will be more careful. They know that joining a Network Marketing company under someone experienced referrer will contribute in their success. For this reason in your home page you must present your self as a person who knows well his job and is ready to help his co-workers to start their businesses properly. These people are to become your best co-workers, if you follow up with them properly.
