Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet By Tasos Vasilopoulos Part 12 - Time to work – Start building your link popularity – Your tools Introduction This article makes part of a series of 20 articles. The subject of this series is creation and promotion of a website as a cost-effective method to establish a profitable home based business on Internet. In my previous article, “Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet – Part 11 – Submit your website to Search Engines and Directories”, I have indicated to you what to do and what to avoid while submitting your website to Search Engines and Directories. In this article I will present you tools that you will have to use while building your link popularity. Your tools In your job of building your link popularity (LP) you will need tools to help you distinguish right web pages to exchange links with and also measure results of your work. 1. Google’s toolbar It is a toolbar that contains a number of useful tools. Among them are two that are essential for your work. The “Pagerank Indicator” and “Backward Links”. The indicator shows Pagerank (PR) of page you are browsing and backward links is a list of incoming links of this page that have a Pagerank equal to 4 or better. You will have to download this toolbar from http:/ oolbar.google.com and install it its full capabilities. Google makes a note that, for advanced capabilities to be activated, toolbar will be sending info about pages you are browsing to Google’s servers. It really does that, but, if you want toolbar to show you PR of a page, then it must send to Google’s servers URL of this page in order to receive and present its PR to you. This toolbar will appear in your browser’s windows, under your other toolbars. You can spot it just below address box. In middle of toolbar resides green bar indicating Pagerank of currently viewed web page. If you place your mouse in bar number of PR appears. In image below I have opened menu at right of green Pagerank bar to show you “Backward Links” selection that will present you all important incoming links. These “backward” links have PR equal or greater to 4. Every month Google sends its spider to make a deep “crawl” of websites on Internet. It gathers all web pages found (more than 3 billion currently – September 2003). Then it uses its algorithm to calculate Pagerank of each one. Same work is done also by other major Search Engines, maybe not monthly, but many times in year.

Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet By Tasos Vasilopoulos Part 1 - The method Introduction This article makes part of a series of 20 articles. The subject of this series is creation and promotion of a website as a cost-effective method to establish a profitable home based business on Internet. In this article I will present you steps of my method. In following articles each one of these steps is analyzed to lowest level and illustrated. The steps of method First we have to define tasks that an Internet Network Marketer has to accomplish in order to become successful. His first task is to find new people interested in creating a successful home based business. Then, he has to convert them into members of his personal group of affiliates. And this is second task. Next task is to teach them how to become capable Network Marketers like him and help them start producing results. This is it. Is it easy? Not at all. Is it fast? No way. Why? Offline Network Marketers can tell you how difficult it is to find people interested in listening carefully their offer to take advantage of their home based business opportunity and become their co-workers. So, just to find right people is already a very difficult task. But, there is a “but” here. We do not operate offline. Not mainly. Offline promotion of my business helped me find some of my best co-workers, but vast majority of my affiliates do come from my online activity. This is Network Marketing on Internet we are talking about. It is a 90% online activity. Most of Internet users use their computers to visit websites on Internet, get information, play, communicate, and work. And when they want to find information about an issue, they usually use Search Engines to spot most relevant websites to information they are looking for. So, this is big difference between offline Network Marketing and online Network Marketing. In first case you have to find your customers and co-workers. In second they are looking for you. What do I mean by that? Let’s have an example. Open your Internet browser, type http://www.google.com in address line and press [Enter]. What is Google? The most important Search Engine for last 5 years. Millions of people use it every day to spot best websites regarding issue they are looking for. In search box that will appear in front of you type words “free work at home job”, without quotes. Then press [Enter]. A list of websites will appear in front of you with most relevant and important of them listed first. Among websites in first page you will find http://www.free-work-at-home-job.com - one of my websites. Thousands of people search every month on Internet using phrase “free work at home job”. Most of them visit my website. Now, type in search box of Google words “computer work at home job”, without quotes. Then press [Enter]. A list of websites will appear in front of you again with most relevant and important of them listed first. See which website is first or among first three websites: http://www.computer-work-at-home-job.com - one of my websites too. Nearly all researchers for a computer-based work at home job will visit my website. So, my first task, to find people interesting in creating a work at home business on Internet is accomplished. I DO NOT GO TO THEM. THEY COME TO ME. The second task is to convert them into members of my personal group of affiliates. I have six (6) websites. Some of them attract many visitors, some of them not. All of these visitors are well targeted. There are people in search of work at home business opportunities. Legitimate, computer based, online opportunities. And they come to my websites. I have 20 seconds to attract their attention. You may have noticed that some websites take more time to appear in window of your Internet browser. Such a website would have been a failure for my business. My home webpage has to be small. So it can be downloaded quickly to computer of my visitor. Now, I have to attract his attention. Here comes title, subtitles, and first paragraph. I have to present him my offer immediately, clearly, smartly. With elegance. I want to attract him. I want to keep him reading. I want him to continue to second paragraph and so on. I want to increase his interest in what I am offering to him. I will present him myself and my company. Nothing bogus, no false promises. This is who I am. This is what I am offering to you. An opportunity to make money online. This is my company, our products and our way to work. Do you want to become part of my group? A few paragraphs, no graphics to distract him from main idea, not many different options. I want to attract his interest. He must already be asking himself, “What’s in it for me”? Now, I have to show him money. I have to create desire in him. I must lay down compensation plan. Again, no false promises. Finally, I must create his desire to act, to join my company, to become a part of my group of personal co-workers.
