Absolute Beginners (Part 1) - How to get off to a good start with your home based business Written by Elaine Currie, BA(Hons).
Once you have made decision to work from home, you should spend some time in planning and preparation. Having decided that an internet home business is right thing for you to take up, decision needs to be made as to what type of home business would interest you and what type of business would be practical for you in your particular circumstances. I chose a Plug-in Profit Site (you can see all details at http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/main-4295) because it was ideal for someone like me who had no previous internet experience or technical knowledge, but also offered a great deal of flexibility. Do not make mistake of rushing into first scheme you see which promises huge amounts of profit for very little effort. These schemes never deliver what they promise. If you want to make a good income, you have to earn it and you will not make a success of any business overnight. Like any other form of profit making enterprise, a home business requires dedication if it is going to succeed and generate a reasonable income, so pick something you will enjoy doing; choose something which interests you for its own sake, not just as a way to make money. A homeworker is no different from an office worker or any other worker for that matter. We all need an income and we have to earn it. The important difference when you have your own home business is that profits all go into your pocket. All profits belong to you and so do responsibilities. If you are going to be your own boss, you will have nobody but yourself to blame if things go wrong. Start out right way and things are more likely to stay on track. If you cultivate good working processes from beginning it is easier to keep them up than to trying to break bad habits at a later date. Hopefully you will enjoy your work from home experience, even have some laughs along way, but this does not mean you can afford to take a less than professional attitude towards your business. Think about what you are going to do, make a plan, write a list of things to do and work through your list methodically. Don't start things off in a rush of enthusiasm, and then look back and wish you had done things differently. A few basic preparations will get you off to a good start.
| | Do’s and Don’ts for the Internet Marketing Newbie (Part 2)Written by Debra Hamer
You are now reading Part 2 of my article “Do’s and Don’ts for Internet Marketing Newbie”. Part 1 covered Do’s and this part will cover Don’ts. · Don’t throw your money away! Unless you have lots to throw away and can afford to buy whatever gets thrown at you. Budget yourself and keep within your budget. Only spend when you need to. You will come across plenty of sites that want you to spend your hard earned money for an internet marketing course, E-book, or piece of software guaranteed to make you money. Don’t fall into trap. First investigate, ask questions from other marketers to see if they are familiar with product and recommend it. That’s where forums come in handy and are beneficial. · Don’t believe all of hype you will encounter. Example. BUY THIS SOFTWARE NOW! YOU ONLY HAVE TILL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT OR THE PRICE IS GOING TO DOUBLE OR EVEN TRIPLE. YOU’LL SAVE $200.00 IF YOU BUY RIGHT NOW! Don’t believe it, price will be same tomorrow and next. Or here’s another good one. I’m only selling this to first 50 people who visit my website. Yeah, right. I really believe that one. · Don’t forget you are a potential customer to every marketer out there, so they will try to sell you their service or product to make money. Remember you are now a marketer and your purpose is to sell your service or product to others, not for you to buy theirs. · Don’t get me wrong, some services or products are worth buying. You just have to figure out which are right ones for you and your business. Remember you’re not trying to line someone else’s pockets. You’re trying to line your own. · Don’t get frustrated and give up because things don’t happen right away. You have to have mindset that you can do it and succeed. Granted you will have good days and bad days. Every accomplishment is a victory. Every defeat is a learning experience. No business is an overnight success. · Don’t limit yourself and your thinking. Be willing to try different things and when you find one thing that seems to work, build on it, but keep trying other things as well. · You’ve had your business up and running for a couple of months and you’ve only made one sale. Don’t quit because you think it’s not working. Think in these terms instead. If you’ve made one sale, then you can make 2 sales, and if you can make 2 sales, you can make 3 sales and so on. Many of top marketers on internet today took years to find formula that led to their success.
