About that Dream...

"I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship."

--Louisa May Alcott

Remember your very first job? That all-grown-up feeling! Your own money to buy things... The independence?

Do you still have that excitement today? Do you jump out of bed, eager to start a new day? Or are you tired, maybe even slightly depressed?

Perhaps you've lost touch with your own special *dream* overrepparttar years. What was it? Have you thought about your dream lately? Acknowledging it can free you up to removerepparttar 123550 obstacles.

Those Nasty Obstacles

What's keeping you from your dream? Start a small list of things you consider obstacles in your way. Are they *Time,* *Energy,* *Money?* Is your life just too stressful? Brainstorm some solutions and write them inrepparttar 123551 column next torepparttar 123552 obstacles.

Each ofrepparttar 123553 above were obstacles for me. We were about $14,000 in debt (credit cards and school loans). I was working 40-60 hours a week -- just to payrepparttar 123554 bills. Using my energy to work for *things,* leaving none for pursuing my dream.

The Negotiation

If you could trade something for your dream, what would it be? If you wanted it so badly you could taste it -- how could you make it happen?

I wanted to work part time and pursue my writing. I negotiated with myself. If I could learn to live on 20 hours pay per week, I could go part time. Two and a half years later, we were debt free with a small nest egg. Our spending was minimal. I had finishedrepparttar 123555 first draft of my book a year earlier. I moved to part time, evening hours, and my new job was now 3 miles from home. My immediate goal of part time had spurred me on.

Awaken The Sleeping Attitude Within You!

Written by Richard Vegas

I have maderepparttar statement numerous times that; "You arerepparttar 123549 most important living person." Take some time and think about yourself. Look at yourself inrepparttar 123550 mirror and see how long you can stare without walking away. If less than five minutes, then you need an attitude adjustment.

One In A Million!

Think about it, in all of history there has never been another person exactly like you. That's scary. No, I'm just kidding. You are very unique, you are very personal, and you are very emotional. What makes you so unique? It'srepparttar 123551 sleeping giant that inhabits you.

Actually, you have two giants inside you and they are; your consciousness and sub-consciousness. The conscious giant only benefits you when you are awake. The sub-conscious orrepparttar 123552 great sleeping giant is our 24/7 buddy.

What this means is; we arerepparttar 123553 product of our environment, our physical body, heredity, and our particular place in time and space. We haverepparttar 123554 power within us to harmonize with our entire environment and to direct our thoughts, and control our emotions which will ordain our destiny.

You Are A Mind With A Body!

Sounds like something from a Boris Korloff movie. But, that's exactly what we are. And, it isrepparttar 123555 greatest design in history. Our mind is made up of these two giant powers that are designed to work in harmony with allrepparttar 123556 elements of our environment.

The problem is; when these two powers inside of us are not working harmoniously together, we experience frustration and anxiety. The conscious mind is always trying to berepparttar 123557 bully and have his way. The sub-conscious is a quiet gentleman and always trying through very soft urgings, to get us to listen to him.

Well, what do we do? The best answer is to pay attention to both, and not do anything wrong. Yeah, right! Seriously, your body can't do anything without your conscious mind having first setrepparttar 123558 stage, so,repparttar 123559 most important thing is to listen to both and then take action.

Asrepparttar 123560 movement takes place, circumstances and results, orrepparttar 123561 lack of, will tend to direct our decisions from there. As more information is gathered we will be more certain of whether we have maderepparttar 123562 right move. If not, make adjustments in our actions.

The Burning Question!

The problem is; we know how to listen to our conscious mind, but, most ofrepparttar 123563 time, we don't know how to listen to our sub-conscious mind. And, it'srepparttar 123564 sub-conscious, whererepparttar 123565 giant sleeping attitude is formed that drivesrepparttar 123566 action. And, withoutrepparttar 123567 right attitude behindrepparttar 123568 action, you'll be a few fries short of a happy meal.

The sub-conscious isrepparttar 123569 emotional powerhouse behind whatever we do. Remember, emotions are just "feelings";repparttar 123570 way you "feel" about something. The sub-conscious can make our actions feel like we're riding on a cloud, or gritting our teeth throughrepparttar 123571 whole ordeal.

We have all done things that we did joyfully, and we have all done things that just chapped our rear.

Get To The Bottom Of It!

Well, what wasrepparttar 123572 reason we got so chapped on one and didrepparttar 123573 other so happily? Was itrepparttar 123574 "act" itself? Nope, repparttar 123575 action itself had nothing to do with it. For every action you hate, I'll bet we can find someone that loves it.

What happened was, and this is a simplified example;repparttar 123576 conscious mind makesrepparttar 123577 decision we must do something. Thenrepparttar 123578 sub-conscious tells us how to feel when we do it. Now, here is whererepparttar 123579 war begins.
