Torepparttar world you might be one person, but to one person you might berepparttar 128648 world. – Unknown

This week I had a coaching session that caused me stop, sit back and reflect on why we're really here.

My client, M, and I have been working together with a focus on building her business, however, for this particular session, M advised she had learned of a dear friend's death earlier that morning, and wanted to honor her by reflecting onrepparttar 128649 powerful impact she made on her life.

M had married young and moved far away from her family. Still a teenager, she and her husband settled in a small community in a beautiful mountain region.

Because she was so young and had little in common with members ofrepparttar 128650 community, she felt as an outsider.

One day, she visited her local post office where she metrepparttar 128651 Post Mistress, Edna. Edna immediately made M feel welcome and opened her home and heart to her.

Throughrepparttar 128652 many years that followed, Edna supported M throughrepparttar 128653 births of her children, repparttar 128654 heartbreaks that life inevitably brings, repparttar 128655 trials and tribulations of raising a family, andrepparttar 128656 joys and celebrations that follow each victory.

Edna was there when M lost her parents and M was there when Edna lost her husband and several of her children. Edna would listen and support M without judgment. She showed love and acceptance to M and everyone else she encountered.

As M and I spoke about Edna, we reminded ourselves that inrepparttar 128657 end, it never matters how much wealth or material possessions you accumulate, how successful your business is or how many notches you have under your belt.

Do Feng Shui Remedies Really Work?

Written by Steven M. Ng

THE PREMISE

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art that has been practised for thousands of years. It is based onrepparttar idea that there should be a "balance" or harmony inrepparttar 128646 world. Everything around us has its proper place. If something is out of place andrepparttar 128647 balance is disturbed, this disruption can materialize as a feeling of uneasiness inrepparttar 128648 people around it, or as violence or lack of prosperity inrepparttar 128649 area.

Feng Shui, in all its various forms, acts to restore that balance and harmony. This balance can be in difference ways, such as health, prosperity, wealth and love. And a lot of it really works. The cities of Hong Kong and Singapore are prosperous capitals compared to their neighbors because they are located in places whererepparttar 128650 Feng Shui is perfect for a bustling metropolis. Evenrepparttar 128651 house of Bill Gates, richest man inrepparttar 128652 world, is said to be located inrepparttar 128653 perfect location inrepparttar 128654 hills to bring its owner great wealth.

But why does Feng Shui not work for some people? In order to answer that, we need to look at its history.

THE HISTORY

Feng Shui originated from ancient China, a land that developed other skills and arts such as medicine, martial arts andrepparttar 128655 origins of chemical warfare. The knowledge of these skills were highly priced, andrepparttar 128656 masters of these skills understandably did not want their secrets to be known to others, for fear thatrepparttar 128657 knowledge could be used for wrong purposes, or thatrepparttar 128658 masters would lose their status and prestige oncerepparttar 128659 knowledge became commonplace.

It is therefore expected thatrepparttar 128660 masters might not have handed down all of their knowledge to their students. These students might have compiled whatever knowledge they had, and guessedrepparttar 128661 remainder that they did not learn fromrepparttar 128662 masters. Some of these students were geniuses, able to replicaterepparttar 128663 miracles their masters had performed. Others were not so skilled, but used whatever knowledge they had to make a living for themselves. This scenario, when applied to Feng Shui, explainsrepparttar 128664 various schools of Feng Shui that exist today. Some schools do work wonders, but there are also those that produce very little tangible effect.
