A Choice to Believe God

Written by Joyce C. Lock

It was beyond thrilling once I realizedrepparttar Bible was a How-to Book; a list of Master's tools for overcoming whatever we face inrepparttar 126855 world.

I would see all kinds of wonderful instruction and promises, then look around and not see such faith in others. It is as if people believe Jesus died onrepparttar 126856 cross and, then, lied about allrepparttar 126857 rest.

"If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable," I Co. 15:19. And, if we are miserable, we just might have a contracted a contagious disease called Stinkin' Thinkin'.

"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he," Pr. 23:7. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to grow toward protecting ourselves fromrepparttar 126858 lies of Satan.

Only two options are available for which to place our faith: (1.) to believe God, or (2.) to call Him a liar, (1.) to give glory to God by recognizing Him for who He is and who He said He would be, for and through us, or (2.) to give credit to Satan by focusing on all that is wrong with us andrepparttar 126859 world.

Of course, one could choose to place themselves on God's throne; thinking they have no need of Him. Our choice determines to whom we give power; to which presence we will dwell in. And, we know that Satan both promotes pride and accusesrepparttar 126860 brethren.

So,repparttar 126861 next time a negative thought comes your way, before you open your mouth, stop to think. Just who are you representing, anyway?

Rejoice inrepparttar 126862 Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Satan is like a roaring lion, all he does is roar. We either give him power to devour us, or we choose to believe God. It is impossible to fall or fail followingrepparttar 126863 instruction God speaks to us, as Satan can not defeat God. Being that nothing is too hard for God, rejoice even before He brings it to pass (Ro. 4:17).

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Only God knows how to defeat Satan and where he'll be lurking next (Pr. 14:12). So, it is most advisable to get one's instruction and faith fromrepparttar 126864 words God speaks to you (Jb. 23:12).

Would You Deny Him?

If someone came to your church, claiming to be called to build churches both spiritually and numerically (offering no special programs or gimmicks); you could see it their heart's desire, repparttar Holy Spirit compelling them (I Jn. 5:6b), and every step of instruction was scriptural ... would you receive them?

If a prophet came to your front door, with glorious visions for your future and they, not only proclaimed God's message withrepparttar 126854 veil ofrepparttar 126855 Old Testament removed but, was willing to berepparttar 126856 person inrepparttar 126857 forefront; going through allrepparttar 126858 fires and floods to show you how (fulfilling scriptural evidence that their gift was real) ... could you believe them (Is. 49:4, 7)?

If someone could interpretrepparttar 126859 misunderstood writings of Paul, to guide you intorepparttar 126860 experimental administration; where Jesus is trulyrepparttar 126861 head ofrepparttar 126862 church ... would you still want more proof (II Co. 13:3)?

If God rose up murders, adulterers, terrorist, and such to places of special service (as He didrepparttar 126863 great men of old) ... would you be likerepparttar 126864 Pharisees, requiring signs from Heaven (when they had already been provided inrepparttar 126865 scriptures)? Or, would you be likerepparttar 126866 Greeks, relying on your own wisdom; with a hundred reasons why God's Word does not count for today (I Co. 1:22)?
